Hello everyone, my wife's POE is coming up next week and I am just wondering about SS. Do I have to go to social security office to apply for card or does it come In mail? I have paid her 165$ fee online yesterday. Do I have t have green card to apply for SS or the visa on her passport is sufficient. Any help will be appreciated. Thank You.

If your wife's SSN doesn't come in the mail within 2-3 weeks, you can go to an SSA office to apply. Often we find that going to apply, triggers action on the green card as well.

Also please take a look at Darnell's SSN How To. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/405546-ssn-howto/
