Approval of I-130 for K3

Wow! Congrats in deed. Now that is the approval time I am believing God for.

My husband sent our I-130 on April 2, to the Chicago Lock box, and he received NOA 1 on April 8. It would a wonderful feeling to have our petition approved in less than the stated "5-month" processing time.

Thank you. Yeah God works in mysterious ways..The approval was the unexpected one since I was expecting it to be 1-5 months.

Good luck to both of you :-)

My guess, and it's only a guess, is that a box of petitions came in from the lockbox intake facility and some new employee made the mistake of distributing the files right away instead of taking them to the storage room.

Be careful of "post hoc, ergo propter hoc" logic. Just because you see two cases with beneficiary coming from the Philippines being approved quickly does not mean Philippines is the reason. There could well be two separate reasons or just one reason, having NOTHING to do with the Philippines.

I think ours was not on a Priority Processing, we never even requested it to be expedited as well..we did the process like what others did.. I am not sure if being married in the US helps..I was a k1 visa holder when I entered the US last year, then got married there, then went home after 5 months with out AOS. My husband and I both know that I can't go back anymore because I don;t have a valid visa so he decided to file for a K3 but we just got lucky because we got an approval for just 14 days. We, like you can't still believe but that's the decision. I am wishing everyone to have their approval soon too..

Congrats!

Thank you :-)

Please understand there will be no K3 visa. You are on the CR1 visa path. It may well be your actual circumstances (previous K1 etc.) that caused your petition to go in the queue for immediate processing instead of in the waiting queue. You may never really know though.

Yes sir, I was just stating that my husband chose the K3 but since our I-130 already had an approval, we will be processing the CR1. Thank you :-)

There was never going to be a K3 visa. The choice to file the second petition has not been taken away, but new procedures kill that second petition after approval. Yours just died prior to approval due to how quickly the I-130 was approved. NVC won't get to kill your i-129F because USCIS will kill it first.
