Interview soon but no packet 4 yet

Dear all

My spouse has been scheduled for an interview on 1st Feb,07 as per DOS and mail from Mumbai Consulate.Her paper work was sent on 12/28.Although she has not received packer 4 yet.!!She needs to submitt the paper work between 11 Jan to 17 Jan.What should we do now?any help Please??

We are in the same boat Our interview is set for 1-25-07 and no packet 4. Can you just schedule the medical? Is there anything else besides the date that is included in packet 4?

Don't wait for those mails if you have already waited long enough with a no go. We recently had a very similar experience with Mumbai consulate and therefore I would recommend your spouse to pick up Packet4 directly from the consulate/embassy itself. They open from 8am until 3pm and should be able to prepare packet4 for her. You can not download packet4 online as it contains an INterview Letter which they don't have authority to publish it online. If you have questions or concerns regarding this, do feel free to PM me!

We also have a Feb. 2, 2007 interview date in Mumbai and we havent received packet 4. We didnt receive a packet 3 either, we downloaded packet 3 and sent it in. DOS has confirmed our Feb. 2, 2007 interview.

Have you contacted the embassy also by e-mail? My fiancé was suddenly scheduled for an interview after I sent a complaining e-mail and he did not have time to wait for the mail. I received an e-mail on November 27th stating his interview was December 18th. He had until December 4th to get all his paperwork turned in - 4 days.

Mumbai sent him an e-mail with a copy of his interview letter attached and this is what he used. They also gave him the link (again) to download Packet 4 from their site. I honestly do not know if he ever received an original in the mail.

If you cannot go to the consulate, I would recommend you try and contact via e-mail and possibly even the phone - even though I never had any luck with the phone.

You are welcome. And yes, in our case yes they did. They also sent it to me - it was an e-mail addressed to both of us.

I generally have always been lucky in getting responses to my e-mails. When my fiancé went for his interview they did tell him they receive so many e-mails every day which made it difficult to sort out the very important ones that need replies right away (and yes we all know OUR e-mails are important so they should answer them ) . If you have not already done so, be sure in your subject line to make it sound critical - which it is.

I am not sure how critical it is to turn the medical in with the papers. In appointment letter does state the medical must be completed before your interview. Does anyone else have any idea with Mumbai?

Our interview is also scheduled for 1 feb but, fortunately, we got pack-4 already. They sned pack-4 by reg mail so if no one is at home, they would not deliver I guess. Anyway, the solution is:

- As Lori suggested, send them email with good subject line and they would respond to you.....

Once you get the apt letter by mail, you can download other forms(mainly DS 230 part 2 for IR1/CR1 visa...) as relevant to your visa category from their website anf fill it out and submit to VFS accordingly.......(all you need is appt letter from them and rest is downloaded from web)

- Alternatively, your spouse can go to mumbai embassy and pick up the letter and/or pack-4 in person. But to do this, make sure s/he should go early in morning there becasue the time for window open is 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM and people come early to start a que to go to this window.....!!!

As far as VFS is concern, I called once to VFS asking them whether we need to submit medical as well. Girl who answered phone said its ok if you dont submit medical but, somehow, I didnot find her voice very confident.....So in conclusion, its ok if you dont submit medical to VFS if you cannot cannot make it....However, I personally recommend to submit medcial as well... ( I belive VFS only take medical report with them and they dont take x-ray and ask you to hand carry that - this is as per some ohter urer's experience).....

My Wife is Scheduled for Interview in New Delhi for Feb7th for CR1, as they have not send us Packet 4 in mail , they were telling us my email and phone they already dispatched the letter but since my wife did not receive it she went personally and collected the packet 4 with interview letter. Consulate do recommend to submit all paperwork to VFS including your medical if for some reason you could not submit you can always carry it.

Best of luck to all of you for interview , I myself was from bombay since everyone from my family is here in US my wife wanted to file from new delhi since her parents are there.
