Can anyone tell me who has already gone through their interview, if they have the husband and immigrant wife in separate rooms or areas for the interview? I have been told by several who have gone through it, that they were questioned in separate rooms

Also, maybe a somewhat logical answer to this question, I was told 50% of applicants go in for an interview and 50% are waived from the interview. There has to be a logical reason for this. I am thinking it is all based on the application. If USCIS thinks everything looks up and up on the app they will be waived, but if they think there is a red flag in an application then they will be called in for an interview. Please, any opinions on this

Thank you kindly

Ron

AOSing from K1 visa has 50/50 chance of being picked for interview.

AOSing from other visas definitely has to go through the interview.

Done with K1, AOS and ROC

I am referring to the interview for the AOS (the greencard) from the I-485 petition. We filed the I-485 with a I-765 (EAD) also. They are by passing the EAD and received notice to come in for an interview for the Greencard. Hope that helps

You have no timeline, but your profile says K-1, so we will go with that.

About a 50/50 chance when adjusting from a K-1 visa. It is mostly random and has nothing to do with your application. Of course some could be called to interview because they feel there are red flags with your case, but that is not the reason for interviewing most K-1 applicants. They interview you together. They would only conduct an interview with you separated if they feel there is an issue with your case and need to do so.

Lately those getting waived from having an interview are having to wait longer than those getting an interview, so it is not such a bad thing to get chosen for an interview really.
