Hello vj- members,

I got married to a Vietnamese guy in October 2012. I am currently back in the US and filled for cr1 for my husband. So long story short, our case was approved by the uscis and I just completed the DS260. I believe if everything goes right we should have a interview date soon. My problem is that I might not be able to make it back to Vietnam for his interview. Did any of you went to the interview by yourself. Me and my husband, we are really worried because I was reading the the embassy in HCMC is very tough.

Also can anyone tell me about the timeline that you need to bring to the embassy. Does it have to be notarized?

are you going back for your marriage license interview? or his interview before going to the US?

I didn't accompany my wife to te interview and she did fine but that was years ago. There are some here that went through more recently who can help out more. I am pretty sure many go through alone and do just fine.

Personally I don't think it is better one way or another. The most important part is to amass the strongest case possible of a legit coupling.

I mean the interview before him going to the US. I don't know if I should go back when the time comes or is it better if he goes to the interview by himself.

you don't need to go back. they are interviewing your husband, not both. so don't waste your money going back to vn.

My fiancée just went through the interview alone. After the DS160 were submitted I took a guess and went back a month after in December to go with her.....but unfortunately they delayed our case and we did not get a interview date until April. She passed but they were tough....asking like 50ish questions.

I think as long as your relationship are real, your husband has nothing to worry about...just answer from the heart and he will pass the interview. Your being there will not make the interview any easier, except for his emotional support.

An & Ly

Waiting for P4 since Nov 15, 2013

Interview scheduled for April 2nd, 2014

Passed interview - wooooo hooooooo

Had our interview on march 24th 2014 and it was a breeze. Im the petitioner and they let me inside, as a matter of fact they ask me like 5 question and ask my wife only one question. They ask my wife do i shave LOL. But for our experience i see alot of blue slips and only several people pass. They are tougher since the visa scandals in vietnam, but since i petitioner for my wife and 3 years old daughter 3 years ago makes it easier i guess and good luck with your interview. I think is better if you can accompany your husbamd to the interview
