Great forum! Doing a lot of reading so we are ready for later this year.

I'll be headed back to Trece Martires next week so we can get our marriage license. Have an appointment the following Tuesday at the embassy (thanks to the site here or I would have forgotten to make the appointment online!). Hopefully file for the license the next day. Mhay has been busy getting here CENOMAR and other documents.

Wedding will be in August, so part of this trip is finishing the planning for that. I'll only be there 10 days this time so a lot to do.

I'm going to bring the forms so we can at least have some of the information filled out. i will type them when I'm home and bring them back in August for her to sign. Leaving her copies of a lot of my documents this trip as well and will continue to add to that. Thought of setting up a dropbox or Google Drive account for scans of everything as well.

I'm sure we will have questions as we get closer to CR-1 time. Still a lot of reading to do!

*** She keeps wanting me to eat Balut :0 I told her I'm bringing American Balut this trip for everyone (Cadbury easter eggs :) )

Awesome! It takes a lot of time, effort and tons of reading. But if you do everything right, nothing could go wrong! and yeah, dropbox is great idea, as is saving them on a flash drive as well. It's definitely a plus that you are preparing everything ahead of time.

Just for your reference, in case you haven't checked out out the VJ guides: http://www.visajourney.com/content/guides

- Do check out the "guides if you are married" portion, since this will be the flow you will be following after you get married.

All the best to your journey!

p.s. Balut is not for the faint of heart indeed. I'm sure it will be an experience for you. :)

Please feel free to ask questions but please read the guides first. They will answer most of your questions and sharpen the questions they do not answer, enabling the rest of us to give you more precise answers.

None of us here are geniuses (as far as I know), but we all get this done. It does not take smarts or special skills, just hard work and a strong desire to get it done. And you will get it done as we aill will.

I assume you realize there are two ways to go here, one to marry in the Philippines and file for a marriage visa and second to file for a fiance visa and marry in the US, and you decided that option 1 is better suited to your needs.

The Google drop box sounds like a great idea to collaborate on documents over half a planet. WIsh you were here to tell me that last year when I filed.

Thanks!

Yes she wants to Marry in the PI, so we will be going the CR-1 route even though the time is longer. I'll be going over to the PI every 3 months or so while we wait and plan on being there for the interview once we get to that point.

Looks like wedding will be in Tagaytay. Anyone have any recommendations for a nice place for the ceremony and reception? We plan on setting everything up this trip.

Americans don't take kindly to fish with the heads and tails still on and eating Balut. 1cool_dribble.gif

Putting that to the side, using drop box does two things, it is a backup of everything you complete and everything you receive in return from government agencies. During this process you thank your lucky stars that you had a copy. Just the other day I was looking for my I-129f NOA 1 and I couldn't find it. I went to my drop box and found it, printed a copy and proceeded to use the document to complete a package I was sending off.

When scanning your documents, try and put them in folders labeled by topic or process which will make it easy to find. Use a PDF creation program to scan your documents to, as it's easier to email.

Also, I used an app that was a "note book" on my android phone. I use it to keep important information like dates, names and document information such as from passports. If you are filling out documents for your wife/fiance than you will find it handy. I had 3 (wife and her two children) who were immigrating so keeping all that information straight became easy. BTW I used inkpadnotebook.com. It's free to use on one device but you can use their cloud service and anyone you give the password to can access the information.

Well, NVC has yer casefile since 2014-11-24 .

Hint - crack open a Balut egg, smear it on the birth certificate, let it dry, then send it in with the civil docs collection into NVC.

That's about the only useful way to use a Balut, really.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Congratulations on your approval ! We All Applaud your accomplishment with Most Wonderful Kissies !

Yes, AOS is paid, just waiting for IV to invoice now. Moving along well!

And we found out we are expecting too :)
