Hi all,

I don't think it will be a problem but i have not been tested for STD before or my USC. Had my medical today and all went really well but i have started to worry about Syphilis.

If by a small chance the bloods came back a positive, what would happen ?? I hope its not a denial.

Is it a case of knights bridge postpone sending medical results until action is taken ?

I know i maybe worrying a bit too much but just need to be prepared.

Thanks

Paul

Bit late to be worrying now, I imagine they would make you get treated first and then tested again.

For your own peace of mind if neither of you have been tested for any STD's, HIV etc then I would go and have the full lot done regardless of the outcome of your medical.

If you are Syphilis positive and you are not treated, you could be given a CLASS A condition classification, which would eventually lead to a denial since you need to go under treatment to overcome the issue. if you ever had Syphilis and they find it out as well as the fact that you have been treated or are undergoing treatment, you could be given a CLASS B condition classification. In that case, you would be fine with a waiver. The only CLASS B condition that can't even be sorted not even with a waiver is any problem related to drug abuse or addiction. In respects with HIV, being HIV positive leads to no grounds for inadmissibility nor denial. Take a look at one of the forms the doctor will fill out: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/vietnam/8621/pdf-forms/DS-2053.pdf

If you are just fine you will get a NO APPARENT DEFECT, DISEASE OR DISABILITY classification.

Not the answer i wanted to hear :-(

I will have to wait i guess and pray they don't call as the doc said if you haven't heard anything by Tuesday all is good.

I hope so.

Well, if you don't have any issues, then, you shouldn't worry about it. I hope everything is great for you. The medical part of my process was VEEERYYYY stressful for me, but, I worried about silly things.

My worry is what if ?? Can i do something about it or is it a instant denial.

Obviously i haven't got my interview date yet as they are waiting for medical results so if doc says get treatment that would be cool before they send them.

Well, if you have had Syphilis, the test will always detect the antibodies in your blood, that is, you will always test positive. It won't be any problem as long as you can prove you underwent treatment and your condition isn't any problem for immigration purposes. Then, you are very likely going to be given a Class B condition, which can dealt with a waiver.

I think you read my question wrong. Im asking what if the test came back with a surprise positive ? Not a already treated positive ?

Then, if you have plenty of time to get treated before the appointment then you will, if not, you will be given a CLASS A condition classification since you haven't been treated and in that scenario, the CO can't issue a visa, but he will probably ask you to undergo treatment.

OK so the doc will send the results and the interview date will still be sent out ?

Ill get tested at local gp then asap so treatment starts before interview.

That's only if i have it ;-) Knightsbridge did say they would call if bloods fail so i should wait to see if they do.

If you have syphilis then you would be cured with antibiotics. You would not be able to immigrate until it is cured. I don't think it takes long.

AOS for my husband

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package

A surprise positive? You mean like a false positive, or a positive for something you've had for a while and just never knew about it (because you've never gotten a test for it)? While syphilis is something that can lay dormant for years, I think you're making yourself more worried than you need to be! Relax, I'm sure you already have enough stress.

K-1

I-129F NOA1 => NOA2: 161 days

NOA2 => Interview: 64 days

AP: 33 days

Total: 258 days

AOS

I-485 NOA => GC: 333 days

No Interview

ROC

07/30/2017: Package Sent

08/01/2017: NOA

09/07/2017: Biometrics

12/04/2018: Approved! 490 days
