New here, hardly. Guess I missed that class.

You got any of examples of that long history of the Democratic party not liking folks darker than a piece of paper? Shouldn't be too hard for you to find.

Here's what I don't get. Why do people assume we don't know what the Democratic party USED to be like? We're fully aware that the KKK originated from the South with Democrats. No one is debating that. The better question would be, what party do they support now?

By all means please post your evidence.

The members of the first Klan in the South were exclusively Democrats. The second Klan expanded with new chapters in the Midwest and West, where for a time, its members were courted by both Republicans and Democrats. The KKK state organizations endorsed candidates from either party that supported its goals; Prohibition in particular helped the Klan and some Republicans to make common cause in the Midwest.

Apparently, it doesn't matter that most of the KKK would now be Republican.

I knew this.

I just wanted some more recent evidence.

Considering that the first black President is a Democrat, it's not hard to figure out where their political affiliation lies.

The whole amnesty thing brings up another issue. What about the folks here still going through the process to get their loved ones here? There's only so many USCIS resources. Even though my wife is a citizen and we're done with all that, I still stand strong with my brothers and sisters still going through the legal immigration process.

That's entirely, entirely on Obama for "magic wanding" DACA against the will of the American people. Yet another reason to loathe him.

Against the will of the American people? Newsflash, your little fringe over there on the far right is NOT the American people. The American people broadly support a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants. The only party acting against the will of the people by holding up legislation is - as usual - the GOP.

Fox News Poll Shows Majority Of Americans Support Path To Citizenship For Undocumented Immigrants

Support for a pathway to citizenship ticks up to 68%, with only 15% advocating a “send them all back” approach, as immigration reform heats up again.

Who's arguing? I'm saying y'all are unable to even see the hypocrisy of your own statements; that "the haters" will now come out. What a hate-filled projection.

Kind of like your statements regarding Obama. Not too nice from what I've seen.

Ugh. Generalize & stereotype much? :ranting:

Nope, because how many black people go on the news and complain about illegal immigration? Black people have enough worries and problems on our plate.

Congress rejected it repeatedly, even when Democrat controlled.

Yes, it failed to get through Congress not because Democrats didn't advance the measure but because Republicans filibustered it in the Senate. And none of that changes the fact that you are wrong in thinking that the American people oppose it. The American people support it. Try again.

Oh. We have to be nice to the preznit, even if he's making a concerted and obvious effort to go around Congress and the Constitution? I somehow owe him that?

The American people support it.

Not even close to being right.
