College Applicatoin question during AOS process

Hi there,

My wife is trying to apply to college and I had question regarding citizenship. It gives below option, which option should I select?

- US Citizen

- Resident Alien

- Nonimmigrant Alien

- Student Visa

Its either Resident Alien or Nonimmigrant Alien but I dont know which one to select since she is in her AOS process.

Please help....

My son (k4) is in the same situation....I believe it is non immigrant alien...for now

We went to the local community college to see what is required for Hachemi to start taking courses. This was before we applied for AOS. They told me if he starts right now, before AOS is approved, he will be held to all the requirments of a foreign student, since right now he is considered a non immigrant. If we wait until he has his legal residency, then he will enjoy the same requirements as the USC. Which mainly would mean less cost, so we are waiting.

Good example, Meriem, of one more reason to not delay filing for AOS!!

To answer the question - he's technically considered an 'applicant to adjust status'. Some governmental agencies classify people in this position 'non-permanent resident aliens'.
