translation and certification of marriage documents

My question is this:

The state is which my fiance lives, Wisconsin, states thatany legal certified documents not in the english language must have attached to it a certified and notarized translation. Who needs to do the certifying and notarizing? Can any notary do it?

Any Notary can do it. But there are no foreign language docs that are part of the initial K-1 package submission. The Beneficiary's birth certificate is not required. And Wisconson is not processing the K1, one of the 4 USCIS Service Centers will do that - Nebraska, Vermont, California or Texas service Center.

I used an official translator to do the translations of my birth certificate and my college degree in Spain. These official translators are people who are registered and can stamp the papers with their signature and their registration number (in Spain). Anyway, I have seen many people in this forum who didn't use this type of service.

I think you can do the translations yourself and take them to the consulate for verification in case the consulate provide you with this service.
