Hello group. I have a special request for someone familiar with vietnamese. Last evening my Philippine spouse and I were chatting on Yahoo and someone began sending messages to me using her ID. First time this has happened. They appear to be threatening, ending with exclaimation. There is a website URL included with each message. Naturally, she clicked on it since she was curious. I advised that she not do that, but too late. She uses a PC at an internet cafe. The messages seem to be vietnamese. I have saved each of them and can forward. Can two persons access a single Yahoo Messenger ID and send messages at same time? Please send a personal message to me if you can help with translation. Thanks.

no, it's not possible to be logged into two computers with the same id for yim. i've tried it at both work and home, when i log in on one comp it logs me off the other comp.

i'm a bit confused about the above so lemme see if i get this: someone was sending you messages, yet she was clicking on them using a pc at an internet cafe.

something i've heard of is this: where yahoo im can be infected with a virus that sends a website link to the other person, which if that person at the other end clicks on it, infects their computer. these website links look like they were sent by the person on the other end btw.

if the above sounds familiar, then she's probably using a computer infected with this virus at the internet cafe.

do not visit the site in the link, you'll get something you don't want, btw.

I've never seen this happen before. There is an entire instant message that she did not write that comes directly from her ID to me exactly when we are chatting. It appears as though she has sent it to me. It shows up in the chat log as though she has sent it using her ID. Each of the IM has the link at the end of it. She has no idea where it is coming from. In fact when she is in the midst of writing an IM to me, a "foreign" message is inserted within her text and her PC sends to me before she is finished writing the IM. Very strange. I know of spimmers who send IM to other users after somehow accessing the receiver"s ID, but they usually pop up as coming from another ID. I've caught some spim when logged on AOL. This is different than that. We'll see what happens tonite. She may need to change her ID and close that account.

it's the comp she is writing from - it has an instant messenger virus i bet. have her use a different comp at a different place.
