Hi All,

Almost there :) I have my interview on the 15th April (next week Tuesday). I have searched high and low and think i have everything I can ready.

I received my EAD on Monday 7th and haven't had time to go and get a SSN but will go after the interview next week.

I was just wondering

a) if anyone can link me into a recent "checklist" of sorts here on visajourney

b) any advice on how to handle the questions etc

This is what i have so far

EAD

Marriage Cert

Birth Cert

Passport

Photos

Copy of the file i submitted

Wifes tax submission - with my name on it

copy of lease - my name on it

joint bank account - both names on it

receipts for submission

interview letter

my wife :)

I am in LA so will be going to the USCIS here. I entered on a K1 in December and got my EAD 7th April.

Thanks in advance to all and especially members of visajourney.com - you guys have literally got me this far.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks,

Amit

Hi congrats & good luck on the 15th ☺ in regards to you SSN you might as well wait until you have your Green Card in hand, for two reasons 1, you will properly be asked for it back during the interview as it will be of no use to you when you have been approved ☺ 2, if you did get to keep it by the time you have been & seen about your SSN you will have to go there again to have your status updated & some writing removed from the SSN card.

Thanks Brian. Good points, that's what I thought given the short window I have.

Does my list of things I have ready look "enough" to you? Anything you think I could add?

It looks OK, do you have extra photocopies of all original documents just in case they ask as they might keep the originals

Yeah I have copies of everything I submitted originally and photos are just print outs Of digital prints. Wife's tax forms etc are all electronic print outs too so have copies of those also. I prepare like OCD so maybe going overboard but I really don't want to go back again or have any excuse for delays. One thing I don't have a copy of is medical as that was in sealed envalope. Only have copy of vaccinations form.

Don't forget your wife's passport, birth certificate, naturalization certificate, (if she was not born in the us),

& if applicable translation of any documents that are not in English.

Yep sounds good ☺ I have been like that my self keep checking every now & then lol, it's better to have something & not need it, than not have it & then need it.

My wife has her passport and naturalization cert and a copy of her birth cert. She moved to the US when she was 4 but has a US passport. Should that be enough or does she need the original? Her original is 4 hours drive away!

Hi how are you holding out  , It might be better to have the original with you but with the time scale you might not get it on time, it might be worth you getting it sent down with nextday delivery but all depends what time you have got your interview at, if you do get it sent to you & you don't have it in time & if they did ask for it you can explain & if they still want to see it then drop it around once you have it in hand. Good luck :D

Hi Brian, When is your interview? I can see from your timeline you got your interview letter on the 18th march?

I think i have everything in order. Rather than going to the store and printing lots of copies of pics - i copied and pasted the pics in a word file and wrote descriptions above each of them. I also forgot that when i submitted the AOS pack i included lots of photos already - hopefully goes down ok with the officer.

will be there this time tomorrow so fingers crossed all goes cool. I only need to check my fine another 40 times today and i should be good lol :)
