All I know is since the TV series started, he's been too damn busy to write the rest of the book series. Leaving many fans of the books getting rather pissed off at the delay.

except for the hubs...he says fans are dumb for thinking he can write this fast that you need to be patient because otherwise the books will be #######.

He was doing a book every two to three years, already kind of far apart per book, he's never been a fast writer. Since he first started working on the TV series, thats gone to 5 to 6 years between books. 2 to 3 years was hardly fast, now that its 5 to 6 years between them, its obvious his attention is definitely somewhere else.

ya...I can see that...

the series is not bad I have to say but i have found that books are always much better...they give you the liberty to imagine your own characters with your own creativity rather than have them presented but yes not bad series.

I don't know, I tried watching the first season and I kept falling asleep. I keep trying to get through the first episode of "Turn" because I really wanted to like it, but I just can't. 'Tis a shame.

I agree, J. Books > movies/series.

Going into work late today so I could take hubs to his appt. All went fine, but the post-op cleaning instructions have me a bit nauseous. I'll have to suck it up, though. :(

It's raining like crazy here today! So much for gardening this evening as previously planned. Though in reality it might be a bit early for that, anyway. :P

The books are always better unless the book is written after the movie or series. While I continue reading this series of books, I kind of doubt I'll pick up another series written by him, simply because I won't trust him to finish the series in a timely manner. It kind of sucks to be into a book series that suddenly goes on hiatus for years. Even if I'm waiting two years for the next issue, its not so bad, but this jumping to 5 and 6 years is crazy. You lose interest and forget the story line. Heck you gotta wonder how well the author even remembers the story line when he finally comes back to write it.

:yes::yes: Which makes me wonder how watered down the TV series had to be.

 No! Well, he has a small tumor in his ear canal that's causing an infection, so they're gonna go in and clean it all out and repair his ear drum. The surgery itself is on ! Monday, but today was to sign all the consent forms and whatnot.
