I'm sure these guys would have stared.. you wouldn't have liked it either.

Oh interesting thing to read in a magazine today... You should have sex 6 day BEFORE ovulation so the sperm can make it into the tubes. In horses the sperm don't last more then 2 days, so it's interesting they'd last longer in men.

And... yeah.. that's all I've got.

Waves to everyone been busy, I've popped in and read but had no time to post.

I've been in those crabby ready to rip off ppls heads kind of moods. Very not normal for me lasted 3 weeks maybe it was longer was starting to freak me out, turns out it was part of baby blues not the same as PPD. So glad it's wearying off, still a bit moody but I think it's the less the 2 hours of sleep a night doing it now.

Sorry!

lol I don't blame the mods, except maybe they could ban certain people who are little more than trolls.

I was not wearing a mini skirt or stripper heels. I don't even OWN either of those. I was wearing a pair of shorts that go to mid thigh and a t shirt. YEESH. I'm no longer a size 6. I don't expect anyone to look. I'm an average size 10 with a squishy middle.

mmm squishy middles get me every time.

Weird, I always thought it was 1-5 days before? Maybe some men have super sperm! My husband's probably couldn't fertilize my eggs even if they were hanging out next to each other...

You just reminded my of a satirical article I once read. Superman and Lois Lane, man of steel vs woman of kleenex, which surmised if they ever had sex, superman's sperm would kill her as they drilled throughout her body searching for an egg.

I always thought so too.

But a survey by the journal Fertility & Sterility found that most women think that conception occurs 2 days after ovulation. Jessica Illuzzi, MD, professor of reproductive sciences at Yale School of Medicine, says "The fertile window actually begins six days before ovulation, because the sperm need to be in the fallopian tube before the egg arrives."

I always figured they'd have to be in there 1-2 days before or right after ovulation because sperm do last longer than eggs, at least in horses. But up to 6 days!!! Wow! Sounds like more fun time anyhow for those wanting kidlets. The only reason I even track my period is so I know why I feel cranky or crazy and when I can't have fun time. I wish I could abolish the thing all together.

Squishy middle.

I stared at the one guy so he knew I knew he was staring. By that time I was annoyed.

I don't think they're staring because they like what they see... I think it's more like "ew I can't look away.. ew"

Hubs says otherwise... so I guess he thinks otherwise. Which is good.

Women always seem to think less of themselves than guys do. And our eyes tend to move away from unpleasant looking women, while being drawn to those that are pleasant looking. If they kept staring, believe me, they liked what they saw.

Lots of references on the web to only 2 days. The mayo clinic says up 3 to 5 days inside a woman. Finding more than that, doesn't seem to out on the web much.

I would believe your husband on this one, size 10 is not eww. Look at Marilyn Monroe!

As for sperm yes they can live up to a week. That's why it can be hard to figure out your due date, since you could of DTD and then ovulated late and then think no way the day we did it doesn't add up. Another reason some doctors will tell you not to wait till you ovulate, get those suckers in place.

Kinda cool but freaky at the same time

I wish I could see myself the way my husband does would make life so much easier.

Menopause? Then it will be gone, only like 15 to 20 years or so?

For the years that I did NFP, I would have considered 6 days before ovulation without any other fertility signs as a definite safe day. I think they need to be rewriting some NFP books if that is true.

I think it's some new research. Which is exciting for people looking for that info. And I was thinking of getting a uterine ablation done so it's gone sooner. I can't get pregnant, there's no point in having Aunt Flo visit every month! LOL

Ontarkie.... I think if I could as well, it would make my life easier as well.
