Nope its called a 5/6. For every 5 you borrow, you pay back 6 within 60 days. 1/60th of the money is collected every day except Sunday as you pay double on Saturday, starting on day one. The loans are taken out by small family businesses, to buy stock and/or equipment to keep their business running or expanding. There's a different end of the business where personal loans are made, interest on those is 100% and must be paid back in December, when workers get their 13th month Christmas bonus pay.

That is interesting, thanks for a explaining a little more.

I'm in the loan sharking business over there already. My wife is a millionaire over in them islands. Which is partly why she chafes working for a company here. Its not that she's not hard working and smart, but she's used to being the boss, not the employee.

So often the case isn't it?

*facepalm* Books, there's such things as books that existed long before the movies

I meant the books Prof. People were queuing outside the bookstores for midnight releases, and I remember a video of these guys in a car basically driving by these lines yelling "Snape kills Dumbledore!" - I used to have all the HP books back in England.

"What's yours is mine!"

That type of loan business set up is pretty common in developing nations. They provide capital to develop the economy where no bank would ever venture.

Yep, she's richer in material goods here, but lower on the status scale.

I bought them all, but my kids stole them  I have too many books as it is now. I debate selling them all off on occasion, but I'm still overcoming an emotional attachment to hard copy books, even though I now prefer reading electronic.

I don't usually read the UK forums, lots of 'America sucks I want my bangers and mash', but Nich-Nick just made me very impressed.

Yet there is another StewpigDad just doesn't get why people don't like him. Maybe he is mental too.

Been trying to watch one episode of cooking show..went back to minute 5 about 15 times...keep getting sidetracked....

must start cooking dinner....don't feel like cooking dinner at all....what I do want to do is....check into a hotel and take a looong bath and order room service. Ya...that sounds about right.

This is not directly related but when I was at SS office....I realized something cool (to me) ...the security guy had this heavy accent and as I was sitting there I was thinking "you know what....I like the US and the way things work here, i am actually happy sitting at the SS office among 45 other people"....apart from other experiences which are really a consequence of my own doing...I do like the US quite a bit.

Just something that kind of hit me right there in the office..*shrugs*

To complain about things you miss and what sucks is the easiest thing to do...I think. I know I did it until my realization....

I am in self reflective mood...don't mind me.

don't cook dinner then.. The family has survived before you arrive, so they will be fine.

Steal your hubs credit card and check yourself into a nice hotel ;)
