It's a May miracle. I received a notification of approval dated May 1. Ten days of processing! We must be swift preparing for the NVC now.

Congratulations! My NOA1 is a day a after yours. So, fingers crossed! Hope everything goes expedient and smoothly for you!

Well... I GOT IT! I-130 has been approved as of a few minutes ago! NOA2 in almost exactly 2 weeks! We haven't even received NOA1 hard copy yet!

I can't believe how lucky we all have been filing in April!

Just to clarify, this was filed for abroad to Chicago and routed to CSC.

Good luck to everyone! You are all the first I've told after my husband. I told him that I needed to tell my new friends. Haha. Take care and I'm hoping this means that they can process all applications faster for all of you who filed domestically.

Time to spend my weekend obsessing over the next steps!

Well... I GOT IT! I-130 has been approved as of a few minutes ago! NOA2 in almost exactly 2 weeks! We haven't even received NOA1 hard copy yet!

I can't believe how lucky we all have been filing in April!

Just to clarify, this was filed for abroad to Chicago and routed to CSC.

April 1, 2014: Delivered to Chicago Lockbox at 10:29 a.m. according to FedEx tracking; signed for by J. CHYBA (date confirmed by My Case Status)

April 4, 2014: NOA1 e-mail received at 12:17 a.m.; case accepted and routed to CSC for processing. Check cashed.

April 17, 2014: Changed mailing address with USCIS Tier 2 representative. He also confirmed that our case had arrived to the CSC and that our NOA1 date is April 3.

April 18, 2014: NOA2 e-mail received at 12:30 a.m. Case status online changed to post-decision activity; date of "last updated" changed to April 17. Change of address e-mail received at 3 a.m. Status changed back to initial review on e-mail and online. Date of "last updated" now April 18. Called and spoke to two Tier 2 reps; both were useless.

April 21, 2014: Approval confirmed verbally by Tier 2 rep. Order put in to send second NOA2 hard copy to new address. Instructed to ignore online case status.

Thank you so much for all the information! I was just about to start researching the next steps when I saw your response which included answers to all my questions!

I have been profoundly impacted by all the support and information I have received from VJ. Once this process is over for the both of us, I will be sure to stick around VJ to help others out.

I think the prevailing theory about why so many April 2014 filers have been approved from abroad is that USCIS is trying to play catch-up. When most DCF ended, many USC living and filing abroad had auto-expedited petitions into 2012. Apparently that stopped during until very recently, leaving many petitioners and beneficiaries lost in the backlog of what appears to be the nightmare of 2013. USCIS set a 5-month goal for I-130 processing times during their restructuring at the end of 2013. That goal was to be met starting in May 2014 and suddenly we have auto-expedited applications. As has been noted here, those filing from abroad to Chicago were routed to CSC while those filing domestically have been routed to Nebraska and have not been expedited.

I really hope that with all of the applications from abroad processed so quickly, USCIS will have more time to dedicate to all other applicants. I know that this is a positive thing for everyone here!

I'm glad many cases are moving quickly, as I was caught up in the backlog of 2013 and my domestically-filed petition sat in a box gathering dust with hundreds of thousands of others, for 6 months before receiving an NOA2. It has been painful.

May the domestic filers get quick approvals as well as those abroad! :clock:
