Hello everyone!

I just wanted to post a short followup on our progress. Husband had POE in Newark on May 29, 2015 (no problems at all!) Surprise! He received his Social Security card in the mail yesterday! We were fully expecting - by what we've been reading from a lot of posts - that we'd have to go to the office and apply. So many seemed to never receive their cards in the mail, even when checking the box on their forms. Ten days from POE and the card arrived, saying it was issued June 2nd, so that was fairly quick in my opinion! Now, just waiting on the greed card! Good luck everyone!

ok the NVC shipped of petition packet to London on the 11th, medical is all done and wives interview is in 2 weeks. Now the question is what kind of visa will she get. We are under CR1 currently but we hit 2 years married in October. I asked the NVC about that and they said not to worry about what visa she gets. So I guess we shall see if customs at the airport will stamp CR1 or IR1 when she comes in in July

she will get a CR1 if she comes in july.. if she waits til October and the date after your marriage she will get IR1.. being so close some people wait it out so you wont have to worry about ROC but to each its own!

yay 2 weeks!! so happy!

rule :

under 2 years CR1

over 2 years IR1

She would only receive IR1 if by the time she POE, you are married for 2 years at that point or before. According to your timeline, she would have to POE on or after Oct 26, 2015 to receive IR1

waiting til October gets her a IR1 meaning she doesn't have to deal with anything for 10 years or she can apply for citizenship in 3 if she chooses..

CR1... 1 year and 9 months you have to pay and convince them she is still married in good faith and may have another interview. you im sure will still get your IR1 just more headache and paperwork lol. 3 months away... I think I would wait it out lol.. three months in this 14 month process and don't have to deal with them anymore? ill gladly take it .. but..... 3 months can be a lifetime being away for so long,

decisions decision lol
