Even if you look on the NVC website it even says yo mail it all off at one time, they will take about 30-40 days to revieve each packet od docs you send so always best to send it all off at on

Step 6: Submit Documents to the NVC

After you collect your Affidavit of Support form(s) and financial evidence in Step 4, and supporting documents in Step 5, you must submit all of your forms, financial evidence, and photocopies of your original civil documents in ONE package to the NVC. Your case may be significantly delayed if you fail to submit all of your documents in one package.

Yes Lengs.

True. I read all pages there. But I was confused that how can I send both packages from India?

But now I understood it. My spouse in US will send both in separate envelope in one package from US. I will just scan the document and send it to her.

This really takes long time. I am already tired of waiting. It took 5 months to get approval and now 5 more months just for few more steps.

Thanks

Jojo

Hi guys, my wife and I are worried that there is a problem with our case. We filed on April 2014 and I don't believe our petition has even been processed yet (no NOA2). I've called their number and talked to a rep who didn't really have anything to say that I couldn't get off of the USCIS case status webpage.

I've had a change of address to a different state which I think might be complicating things.

It wouldn't be so bad if they at least kept us up to date with what they were doing but these past 13 months have been a big empty void with intermittent scraps of non-meaningful information from them. We are really starting to worry so if anyone has any advice over how to speed this up, we would really appreciate it. I've listed dates and actions below.

2014-01-17 - Married in Irving, TX (Texas native, Netherlands spouse)

2014-04-10 - Mailed I-130 to Phoenix lockbox

2014-04-15 - Notice Of Action (Notice Date: April 15 2014; Received Date: April 11, 2014; Priority Date: April 11, 2014; Preference Classification: 201 B INA SPOUSE OF USC) - Nebraska Service Center

2014-09-21 - Notice Of Action (Notice Type: Transfer Notice; Transferred to California Service Center)

This is to advise you that in order to speed up processing we have transferred the above case to the following USCIS office for processing: California Service Center, 2nd Flr, 24000 Avila Road, Laguna Nigel CA 92607-0111

2015-01-11 - Submitted inquiry about why our case is taking longer than normal processing time

2015-01-29 - Request for inquiry about why our case is taking longer than normal processing time assigned to an officer for response.

2015-03-23 - Response to about why our case is taking longer than normal processing time:

Your petition is still pending consideration. We currently do not have a date for your interview. Your case has been placed in queue for scheduling on a future date. We regret that we are not able to give you a timeframe for when we will complete the review of your petition.

2015-03-25 - Moved to California for employment and requested change of address to USCIS

2015-04-02 - Request to change address was assigned to an officer for response

2015-04-16 - Response to change of address request:

USCIS has processed your request. USCIS systems and your file have been updated with the new address provided. Additionally, your petition is being forwarded to the Chula Vista, CA Field Office as that office now has jurisdiction. At this time, no further action is required from you.

Hi Tesla.

I know what you are going through. It shouldn't take this much time.

I guess you should do this.

As Lengs said, first go & meet congressman.

Second, Try to get appointment to local USCIS office. Go and Personally meet them. Talk about your situation & request them to finish ASAP.

otherwise, if they will take 5 more months just because you have changed your address, then you will get approval around September.

GO AND MEET THEM.

Thanks

Jojo

JoJo, the only stuff you have to send your spouse is your Birth Cert and Police records, the other stuff for the AOS and IV packet is all on your spouse, when you have your interview they will tell you all the stuff you need to bring, but for the most part the NVC stage is all on your spouse. Tax documents, pay stubs, marriage cert

Do we have to send our photo (2*2) - Photo of Spouse in India - in this package?

or only US spouse photo?

The first thing to do is schedule and InoPass appointment and speak face to face with the USCIS rep and then contack your local Congressman. You cant rely on them to jump on it, also if you call USCIS, tell thm you already submitted multiple "Out of processing time requests" and tell them to send it to the USCIS CAO (customer action officer) which is located in DC. if not it will just go to the office that has your case and nothing will happen. Ive been there myself and they wont do anything till you start getting more people involved. Also contact the Ombudsman, which is basically the USCIS Inspector General. there is an online form you fill out and submit

Thanks a lot Lynn.

It's a consulate. I will tell my spouse to put documents in 2 different envelope & send in one package. Do I have to take financial documents of US spouse to Mumbai US consulate?

I will call NVC. What's their number? 603-334-0700? I didn't get the case number yet from NVC. Is it good if I will them now? How will they know me? Will USCIS number work here?

Saylin is really helpful. Thanks for sharing.

Yes that's the NVC's phone number. Are you continuing your job once in the US? If so and your financial info is included in the AOS (affidavit of support) that your spouse is submitting, then you'll have to scan that info to your spouse to include in the AOS package I'm assuming. I didn't have this come up for us as my husband will be finding different employment once here in the U.S. and we did not file a joint tax return. You will need to take an exact copy of everything your spouse is sending to the NVC plus originals of your birth certificate, marriage cert, police clearance, etc. Make 2 copies at the very least as you will need to keep one and take a copy with you along with the originals. When you call the NVC, you'll give them your USCIS case # to get you case status until you get your NVC case #.

For the IV package from Saylin's link I sent you:

-Bar-coded cover sheet from payment portal

-Cover letter (optional)

You can find a sample cover letter I wrote here [22]

-Two passport-style photographs (2" x 2") of beneficiary (on the back, write: beneficiary's full name, date of birth, and case number)

-Copy of bio-data page of beneficiary's unexpired passport

-Photocopy of beneficiary's birth certificate

-Photocopy of marriage certificate

-Photocopy of police certificate(s)

Please read the link here [23] for additional documents if applicable (such as petitioner documents in IR-5 cases or divorce/military records or proof of permanent residency, etc).

Also read the country-specific documents found here [24] (start typing the beneficiary's country in search box, choose it, then click 'Go'). There may be additional documents needed not listed above.

Dont forget: Youll need to bring the original civil documents to the interview.

Pleas read and read this wiki plus the NVC site - both have all of your answers right on the websites.
