Well I thought I'd give the NVC another call to see if our Case # and IIN # were assigned. I got lucky on the 2nd redial and got through. I still waited 45 minutes to speak with someone but that was slightly less than the last time. We didn't get lucky with any news though. Still getting the same script; "you have to wait up to 42 days from the day your case was received for us to put the case into the system to generate a case #." Our case was received by them on 11/26, so 42 days after that would be Jan 7th. But I'm not sure if that is business days or total days. Either way, there's more waiting to do,,,

Just got this on back today. Same ole generic response. I dont think they even read what you put in the service request.

Your petition is still pending consideration. We regret that we are not able to give you a timeframe for when we will complete the review of your petition; however, the file is currently assigned to an officer.

Yes, as ItsGonnaBeWorthIt stated (it wouldn't let me multi-quote for some reason), that's what we read when receiving that answer; you typically hear something within 2 weeks and that happened with us as well. Nine (9) days after our Service Request response which stated our petition was with an officer pending consideration, we received the NOA 2. I'm sure yours is coming soon too - Good Luck!

well the case status page says should hear something in 60 days. to me that sounds a little ridiculous to take that long just to verify that they received the information they requested. i do wonder what they really do out there. do they all just sit around on their ### and not look at cases till they receive service requests

well maybe they truly are backlogged like the NVC they went from 5k a week to 22k a week, so that's why im not really upset at how long its taking them because honestly if I went to work and found 22k cases a week instead of 5k I would flip out, in general ! so if they are backlogged as bad as NVC then maybe their working on so many cases coming in that yes us sending service request is like a wake up call like hey! im still here and their like ohhhh I see ya now! let me check into your case again!

and from the look of how many cases on this site in general put in service request , seems like 100s a day just from this site not from all over the world!! then that could be taking time as well! so lets say your supervior that's over your case got 100 service request stacked on her/his desk every few days , could take some time to get through them.... there are more people that put in service request other then visa journey site folks.

my thinking anyways.. im just trying to put my feet in their shoes from looking at my job in general.. the daily load I get here and if it tripled how would I work and especially if one person goes on vacation everything hits the ceiling here at my job so yea.. just my thought

and hiring more people... seems easy but even for my job hiring one person take months and even if , a lot of this generation now refuse to work even at work.. so they could have a few people that just are pure lazy and a more that take their jobs serious...we all have them in every field and every job , just the way of life im seeing it

lol dont forget there 1 hour or so lunch breaks and their other breaks throughout the day. "Hey guys im going to go take a 2 hour smoke break" but i do honestly think they forget about people. But why not finish up processing the people who have been pending for months before you start working on new cases

then they would of left all our files to collect dust because we are "new cases" and continue working on the ones from way back in December who are still waiting.... THIS WOULD BE A HUGE MESS!

all of us would literally be waiting 2 or 3 years before then even touch our files to receive our NOA2. I been in the December and January thread and there are still people waiting from back then..... yea scary thought!

and yes I think they forget about us... we are 1 case out of 500,000 that they see. so yea service request wakes them up to the cases that they still have from before.. but I don't wish them to hold off on all new cases until their caught up... no one in the world would file for a fiancé or spouse ever again because it would take them decades to catch up!
