While there's no hard and fast rule, as I'm sure you're aware - typically when your case is with an officer, you usually receive news within in about 2 weeks. In our case when we received that reply, we were approved 9 days later. Now, with that being said - that in no way guarantees an approval either. As they stated "...decision, correspondence or notice of other action..." doesn't imply an approval. It's just stating you will hear one way or another.

So the countdown started, 59 days to go :)

Regarding the DS-260 they said the review is taking 42 days, after that the IV-bill is generated and when it is shown as paid, the DS-260 becomes available.

Glad that we sent out the packages and didn´t wait for the IV bill. :)

Just looking back to when we all first started this process!! over 8 months ago! and during the process it was horrible and time went so slow we could scream... but now I can see interviews in the NEAR future and husbands and wives arriving in USA and spending the next 60 , 70 years just sitting back laughing at these crazy moments. but what I am most happy about is not only my husband but the friends I made along the way! who knew that we would be in this situation and find friends in the same situation to get us through an hour, a day , a week and 8 months!



what I really want to say is I thank God for you all! for your strength , your dedication and your commitment! and your friendship! :):) :)

Long time follower first time posting lol. I filed in April 07 2014 and I guess my wife and I are one of the few remaining April filers left. To add to it we received a RFE after 7 months of them processing our case. I mean It took them 7 months to realize they needed more info and they sent it right before Thanksgiving. What is funny is that it was initiated after my 3rd "out of processing time" request. Sorry rant over, lol

that sucks! i know i don't think anyone will ever understand them , i was thinking to see if they were hiring i could work a week there get the inside scoop and help EVERYONE with the process... oh wishful thinking

Well the RFE was my own damn fault, lol. I only sent the last page of my divorce decree and they asked for the other 23 pages. It just gets me that it took them that long to decide they needed it

lynn and sam it as been announced the country we are heading to next year is India!!! im super excited gotta tell us where to go!! lol , unless its just your hubby from there? if so he can tell us!! lol

a small group of us at church get together each year and go exploring around the world lol, experiencing church, culture, society ect.. 2013 was Africa, 2014 was supposed to be India but someone got married( :oops: ) so everyone wanted to be there plus some haven't gotten the chance to go , butttttt india it is for 2015 everyone is getting their tickets , hubby will be going lords will!


Well the RFE was my own damn fault, lol. I only sent the last page of my divorce decree and they asked for the other 23 pages. It just gets me that it took them that long to decide they needed it

yea its beyond me why they take forever! lol

I-130 Approved: November 14, 2014 ( after two service request)

Pay AOS Bill : January 9, 2015
Submit DS-261 : January 7, 2015
Receive IV Bill : January 15, 2015 called after AOS showed paid, they released it overnight)
Pay IV Bill : January 23, 2015
Send IV and AOS: January 29, 2015
Scan date: February 3, 2015
Checklist: March 19, 2015 (only need to send south Africa police report)
Case Complete: June 3, 2015 

EMBASSY: 10 months
Interview appointment letter : December 4, 2015
Interview Date : January 21, 2016 medical wasn't complete
Second interview date: April 4th 2016
Interview Result :APPROVED!!!
Visa Received : 4/13/2016 ( they sent us a email stating our visa was ready for pick up)

USA LIFE
US Entry :4/29/2016 
Social Security : 5/10/2016 (filed from the actual office)
State ID: 5/14/2016
Started working!!: 5/25/2016
Finally paid green card fee: 6/24/2016 ( note said we will receive it within 60 days)
Green card in hand: 7/5/2016 10 year green card we done!! 

1st king born: 6/30/2016

April 2017 update: Marriage still going strong, baby boy getting bigger. Life is good
