So we sent our new AOS package & checklist on 10/30 & the NVC JUST scanned it in 11/18, so crazy! Just letting people know to try to warn you in case this happens to you so you don't go crazy wondering where your personal documents are & why it's taking so long, apparently they are completely back logged. Now the 60 day review period starts again.

I mean dang there is not a time when no one is back logged...when the service centers are backed up NVC is a breeze when NVC is backlogged the service centers are a breeze! I wish someone would take do a documentary on both!

Haha!!! Yeah it would make a good documentary with our trials & tribulations right? & tomorrow apparently there is an immigration bill on the table that Obama is speaking about at 8pm? I am praying it won't affect us & that he uses his powers to veto it? Please everyone think positive for this! ☺️

I don't even have a TV ? so I didn't know about it, saw it on the visa FB group. Here's what she said:

"He is going to announce tomorrow at 8 pm that he is using his executive powers, as he promised, to help with the immigration reform. It's supposed to be helping more people to eligible to stay, lessen deportations, etc. There has been a bill in congress that the Republicans have refused to sign. The problem is that the Republicans are threatening to shut down the government again, which means that non-essential things, like our visas for our spouses, will be put on hold too. Like it can have a major impact, and with the holidays coming, it could put us way behind and make us wait longer."

Let's all think positive, I can't take any more bad news!

ok still have the same question not sure if it was answered.. so my case is being sent to NVC two days ago, so where would I get the updates on my case? im done with USCIS right? no longer will I get updates from that site right? is there a NVC site now that I will see updates? sorry a bit confused for the update emails and messages now

From what I've read here, as I'm on my way to NVC but not quite sure where in the process I'm at currently, it's all emails and phone calls when dealing with the NVC from this point on I believe. Correct me if I'm wrong here anyone, please!

yeah you re done with the uscis, no updates from that site yeah. Well when the NVC gets your case they take a while until they give you a case number until then there is no where to check on the status. Wait another week and then start calling the NVC to see if they got your case it takes them a while to give you a case number.

While you wait I recommend to ready saylin's wiki on the NVC process it is pretty detailed and accurate.

I did exactly what was said there and had no checklist or any trouble and I just had my interview yesterday, got approved and just waiting on my passport with the visa now.

Came home to a NOA2!!!!! Yay!!! Now it has become real to me lol
