I read that the NVC stage is taking upwards to 60 days for processing lately. You may have a few more weeks yet, or you may get lucky and be processed more quickly. Good Luck!

Yes i called this morning they said they had to enter the info so i think im at a stand still until December. But Im so happy i have everyone here to tell here their stories. I was getting very frustrated before. I was telling my hubby today i should have filed in his country it would have been easier. One of my coworkers also filed his petition a couple of years ago he said he had no problems. But i guess we have more people marrying abroad. (F)

Hi and welcome! Were you approved from Nebraska or were you transferred to California at some point? I think Nebraska takes longer to ship the cases to NVC, some people had to wait around a month or so for the case to even get there. You say NVC received it though, do you know what day? It takes NVC about a week or two from the date they receive it to input it into the system and generate a case number, but even if you get it over the phone you can't do anything with it until NVC sends the welcome letter (email). :( For reference, see my signature - NVC received my case on 9/17, assigned a case number on 9/26, and I got the welcome email 9/30 (it was pretty fast, I can't complain too much).

I'm so sorry to hear this. At least you have a viable way for your family to be together, even if it's not what you initially wanted. Isn't there any chance that your husband can go live with you for a few months to a year while this nonsense visa stuff happens (you could delay it at NVC for up to a year) and then you both go back to America? Best of luck in whatever you choose to do, I'm happy your family is going to be reunited very soon. :)

The OP stated they are going through Vermont. OP -- welcome to the very slow VSC. :clock: Our PD is April 10, 2014 and we are still waiting as well. Our status on the USCIS website also states Initial Review to date. A call to VSC resulted in the standard non-reply of "it's in queue". I had filed a Service Request -but did so too soon (which I knew better, but my impatience got the better of me). They won't even consider it until your wait time is 1 month past their standard processing time (which is currently 5 months) so once you've hit the 6 month mark, you can file, which from your post sounds like you've already received a Service Request number I'm guessing. I think, but not sure - the jury is still out on whether Senatorial assistance helps your case or not, but anything is worth a try. Let's hope all of us still waiting on our NOA2 get some results soon! Best of luck to you!

Thanks. :) You should prepare EVERYTHING you can for the NVC stage while you wait. I thought we had everything ready, but hadn't it been for some delays on our end we could have sent our documents about two weeks earlier. To give you an idea how stupid this process is though, I just got an email from NVC today that pretty much said "we received your documents, but all the documents are missing" had to call NVC and they said to disregard it. Good luck!

Good luck!

As many people are filing they need to hire workers to accomadate the workload. This is so crazy i feel like sometimes they are just playing games with people lives. They know that people have been apart from their love ones for awhile so they have many of us in a uproar. So tonight i will go ahead fill out the AOS i have my tax transcript waiting so I will just send all in when they send the information. :clock:

Yeah, I agree with you. Thankfully though, things do seem to be going a little faster after the most recent process update (the fees increased, but oh well). That sounds like a good plan. Check your AOS many, many times and make sure you get the right line from your tax return/transcript. Do not leave anything blank, just write N/A. Oh, also if you try to log in to the CEAC site as soon as you get the welcome email (I know, I tried this) it will say your case is in process of termination. Do not panic, it means it's not available yet. Takes a few hours.
