thats a good news   !! i told her too that i wanted to do them together. she wants to see what document list i get with the IV fee email. she said it is more specific. in my case my husband lived in U.K. for 6 years and he moved back to india....and we got married a year later when i visited india. so she is thinking that they might ask us to send two police clearence certificates one from india and one from U.K. so just waiting to see what they ask

I believe the beneficiary will have to provide a PCC (Police Certificate Clearance) from every country ever lived in for 1 year or longer.

He needs to obtain this from his local passport office (where his passport was issued) not the police station for the PCC from India. I believe he'll have to make an appointment for this. For the UK, I'm not sure, maybe someone with UK PCC experience can weigh in here but I did find this link http://www.acro.police.uk/police_certificates.aspx but again, I'm not experienced in the UK aspect of PCCs.

thanks thats the link i found also for UK but again we cant say for sure that is it. my lawyer said if they want it from other countries as well they tell you in the letter where and how to get it. i read UK has a 2 days services. now only if India had that too it takes 15 days just to get it made. :ranting:

Hey... no, NVC is not going to send you a personalized letter telling you what you need for your particular case. You need to read the NVC website ( http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents.html ) and figure it out for yourself. You can check the Reciprocity by Country section to see what you need from the UK and/or other countries. I would check the instructions for all the countries he's lived in for more than 6 months since he was 16.

And you should most definitely send both! And send everything together so you don't have any problems. :) I'm seeing a lot of confusion on this site lately, some people seem to think that if the person wasn't working at the time the PCC for that country isn't needed, but that's not the case. Good luck!

Hey everyone,

I'm just asking for confirmation: does the 5 months national goal for I-130 processing time announced on the website of USCIS only apply to the process at USCIS and not the total including NVC and Embassy?

At first I thought it was a total processing time and I didn't understand why it took 6 months to go through USCIS alone... Now I realize NVC may take 3 months starting from when the NVC case number is assigned and then 1 to 3 more months at the Embassy. This means 10 to 12 months total processing time. Is that correct?

Yes unfortunayely, the national goal for processing the NOA2 at the USCIS is 5 months & then the waiting begins all over again at the NVC so an additional 3-5 months or longer. Once your case is complete at the NVC it can take upwards to 6 months for your embassy to schedule an interview depending which embassy it is. Canadian embassy is scheduling about one month after the CC is received currently. There's no sure time frame for this process. It's case by case & things change constantly. I've been at the NVC 3 months now, hoping for a CC by November & then a December interview, but embassy's are closed a lot in December so probably January. That would mean 9 months total. Patience is key....good luck to you.
