I'm obsessed with any information regarding my visa lol....cant stop reading EVERYTHING and we just started...what am i gonna do for the next 5,6,7,8 month???? i will go crazy

Added you! We're at the same Service Center and our Priority Dates are one day apart... let's hope for fast approvals for us!

thank you very much! i'm gonna send a msg to the universe...my hubby always says "what we think about, we bring about"- i'm definitely thinking about NOA 2 in the summertime!! i know! i'm VERY optimistic

We sent ours on the 12th of April, its been delivered to the Phoenix lockbox, so we hope to get an NOA1 soon - we have signed up for electronic communication, so I dont know when we get that, hopefully tomorrow or monday, and the hard copy not too long after.

We're in Florida, so our petition goes to Texas right? or can it go anywhere?

I almost died when I got a case update just now! Pretty sure this doesn't mean anything at all but hey, something happened! I'll take it.

I would like to share the experience I just had changing our mailing address with a Tier 2 USCIS representative because it could be helpful to my April 2014 buddies. See my signature for details about our situation.

I called the USCIS 1-800 number using VoipCheap on my husband's iPhone. I knew that I was going to have to talk to a Tier 2 representative rather than the first person who answered thanks to this forum, but I explained the situation anyway: We filed abroad and recently moved to another address abroad, but wanted to change the mailing address associated with our case to my parents' house in the U.S. Well this woman (after verifying my receipt number like three times) said no, you have to send a letter to USCIS blah blah and that's when I decided it was time to ask to be transferred to Tier 2. There was no resistance whatsoever. I think once you say those magic words, they have no choice but to transfer you. She verified my receipt number yet again and said some scripted line about how she was sorry she couldn't help me, and that I was being transferred.

I was put on hold and the automated recording said I would have to wait 116 minutes. It was pretty spot on because after almost exactly that much time, a man answered and asked for my last name and then how he could help me. I explained what I wanted to do and he said okay. First he asked me to verify our old address in Bogotá, then asked for the zip code where the new address would be. I told him and he repeated the zip code back to me for confirmation. Then I gave him the new address, spelling everything carefully. He asked if there was an apartment number, I said no, it's a house, and he said okay and asked if there was anything else he could do. At some point in there he asked, "is this for your son or father?" and I said no, it's for my husband. I'm guessing this was for security purposes. I asked him if there was a way to tell if our case had arrived to the CSC yet and he said, "it's there right now." Then I asked him if we could get our official I-797 (NOA1) date since we had to move suddenly and would never get the hard copy. He said April 3 (the NOA1 e-mail came April 4). The last thing I did was say the new address yet again to confirm with him, and then he gave me a really long reference number that ended with CSC. I asked him what that was for and he said, "that's a very good question" (lol) and explained that it's the record of our address change. I asked him if I could repeat it back to him to make sure I had it down correctly and he said yes. I thanked him and hung up, and that was that.

I feel good knowing we have a reference number that is proof of the address change. After one call I'm hardly an expert, but if I had to give any advice, I'd say have your receipt number and any other important info at hand as well as a pen and paper to write things down (you will hear those instructions 100 times while you're on hold haha), plug in your phone/laptop and be patient and polite. For those living abroad, this VoipCheap call today only cost like 2 euros, so it's not a bad app to have. My husband said calling with Skype credit would have been more expensive.

I was reading the oct 2013 filers thread and some of them are finally starting to get their NOA2's

Praying it's no more than 6 mos for all of us. Of course I hope it's even faster! )
