Here's the email Sent me from NVC Yesterday .. :goofy:

June 19, 2014

Dear Principal Applicant:

Your immigrant visa petition is now eligible for further processing at the National Visa Center (NVC). You will need the

following identification numbers to carry out the next steps in the immigration process:

? Your NVC Case Number: xxxxxxxxxx

? Your Invoice ID Number: xxxxxxxxxxx

? Your Beneficiary ID Number: xxxxxxxxx

Keep this letter in a safe place. You will need these identification numbers again during the immigration process.

You must now establish communication with the NVC by completing the Form DS-261, Online Choice of Address and

Agent Form, which allows you to register an agent and your agent's contact information with the NVC. Your agent is a

person you choose to receive communications from the NVC on your behalf. You may act as your own agent, or you may

choose your petitioner, a family member, a friend, an attorney, an immigrant assistance professional, or any other person you

trust to represent you.

If you decided to register someone other than yourself as your agent, the NVC strongly recommends choosing a person with

email capability. If you act as your own agent, the NVC recommends you provide your email for correspondence as it is the

quickest and most efficient form of communication.

To establish communication with the NVC and register your agent you must go to ceac.state.gov and complete the

DS-261, Online Choice of Address and Agent.

IMPORTANT: The NVC cannot process your case until you complete the online DS-261.

Sincerely,

Director

National Visa Center

Still in "initial review" phase from April 4....are others waiting from early April? I'm getting nervous too. I know they said 5 months waiting, but everyone else here seems to be moving quicker.

Thanks in advance.

Yep, we're in Initial Review since early April as well. Don't expect to hear anything until August or September. Sigh

My step son's petition ended up at Nebraska, 04/15/2014 NOA1. I'll be surprised if we hear anything before the seven-eight month point. My wife's petition (filed last year, in May) took nine months. 14 Months total, from NOA1 to her having the Visa in hand. She wanted to wait until the court granted her sole custody, before we filed for her son.

I'll bet the April filers getting approved are all DCF, or expedites. The rest of us have just begun the wait.
