Update: started our application last april.got our priority date and the laat letter we received is that our petiton is sent to NVC. I just want to ask if you have any idea when they will ask for my passport copy? I am a filipino but currently working in the middle east. I havent change any of my documents/ids to my married name yet. I plan to renew my passport by december when my contract finishes and finally stay in the philippines while waiting for the whole process to finish. Will that be okay? Or will it delay the whole process?

They will need the beneficiary’s passport for the IV package. If your case just got shipped to NVC then you probably will not be able to send the IV package until at least a month or 2 from now. So, try to have it ready for then.

The petitioner’s passport is not required for NVC.

I have been following this thread but I have not been able to post anything until now. I am happy to say that as of May 27 my petition has been approved. It took a month. I am so happy yet I am confused as the what to do next. I will also be on vacation for two months and I hope that it won't cause delays in the process. I hope everyone gets good news soon.

We sent the I-130 on april 10th 2014 and we yet didnt receive the NOA1, we will be calling today to know what is going on but I am freaking out... :( My husband came back to USA from Canada in January to secure our life and my immigration and we couldnt file until April... how long you all think it could take to process? Oue 13 months old son is with me in Canada and as everyone here knows and experience, it is hard to be away from your husband/father for so long :(

I know what you feel , My USC husband cameback to America also last month after 12 yrs we lived together here in Japan. because of his Job order . So me and my 8 yrs old son left here in Japan . we filed our petiton last April 23 ,2014 we got approved last May 13 in USCIS . I got my son NOA2 Hardcopy a week ago but I don't know why my NOA 2 hardcopy is not here yet. I don't know if they sent our documents in NVC or not we tried to emailed them but no reply yet. And its hard to contact them. line is always busy :(

In my opinion , wait and Be patient goodluck :)

Actually , we filed our 1-130 in Chicago lockbox last March 14, 2014 ( first time) . even I put e- notification they never contact us . No NOA 1 in 4 weeks , then I got mailed from USCIS NOA rejection with Green paper incuded my all documents they returned back to me . the USCIS told me to fix the errors of my 1-130 petition form., submit the correct fees. and Resend to Phoenix ,AZ . then I Just Resubmit Again last April 23 , 2014 and they forward my 1-130 petition to California Service Center this is my Second time before we got approved in USCIS .

if you don't have any problem in your documents you filed . maybe you will get your NOA 1 soon :)

Yes, They sent Back all my Documents here. because our main address is still here before my Husband cameback to U.S . until now . we never change our Address yet till my Husband moved to new house there nextmonth. Right now he lives inside the U.S Military base in VA. Norfolk . he just got emails from USCIS but the NOA 1 & NOA 2 they emailing here in Japan. when you recieve your NOA 1 go to USCiS website Make your account / type your Receipt number in " case status " so you can track down / or check your case everytime :)

which address you used anyway in your 1-130 petiton form? there or in the U.S ? yeah , you need to check your bank too , when I got the NOA 1 they said in the notice they received my payment $420.00 etc.

and also before I got my NOA 1 my husband got email from USCiS they told him they received our petition Apr. 23, 2014 and in initial review and they give the receipt number in the email. so before I got the NOA 1 by mail I know my receipt number already so I made my account on my own to check my status in USCIS website:)
