ADIT processing. What does this mean?

Hello all,

My wife and I had our GC interview yesterday morning and it went quite well. The officer told us that he will be updating my case status in the evening and I should have my card in the mail, within 2 weeks.

This morning, I checked my online case status and it says "Decision" phase, with the following note below:

On April 9, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before receiving your card, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You can use our current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive a final decision.

What is ADIT processing? Does it take 60 days for the card to be mailed? This is different from what the officer told us yesterday.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you,

Jasmine

Genius answer.

If you cannot say anything constructive then why dont you shut up. If you are so smart what does it mean then?

Well, it means I'm at least smart enough to know that my notice meant i might need additional processing.

Also smart enough to read my question which was "What is ADIT processing" not "Will I need additional processing".

ADIT is another name for biometrics (fingerprinting & photo)..ADIT means "Alien Documentation, Identification & Telecommunications System".If you have already done your biometrics, just disregard it unless they give you another notice. It's just one of those standard uscis mail templates.

10 minutes?, damn, maybe slow computer. Search under "ADIT Processing" came up in 1.2 seconds.

Wow, what a lot of unnecessary silliness in this thread.

OP > I doubt you need to worry about more biometrics. Your card will be produced and mailed out to you soon. Congrats!

~ Moved from AOS from Family Based main forum to Progress Reports sub-forum - topic is case status ~
