Our Successful Visa Interview Today

About one hour ago, my fiancé called me with the good news as soon as she got back to her hotel. Some interesting notes:

  • The Visa Officer (VO) only asked to see the I-134 and copy of my most recent w-2 and 1040. We had prepared a lot of documents to show our relationship history, but those documents were not asked for.
  • VO asked her three questions: where I worked, where we met, and when we became boyfriend/girlfriend.
  • When first called, she went to a window to provide the standard required documents: original notaries and medical exam folder.
  • Then after one hour, they called her number to another window and the interview lasted five minutes at most.
  • Then VO told her that she will receive a package that she will retrieve at Citibank. The package will include her passport and a folder that she must present unopened at the port-of-entry when she arrives in the US.

Congrats, pretty much the same as mine dealt with yesterday. The questions, do her parents approve, does she just want to marry me for a green card (didn't know this till she told me last night)and lastly, does it bother her that I have been married 3 times. Upon answering all 3 he said, your approved. They did ask her daughter if she met me, if she liked me and if she was ok moving to the US.

Good luck in the future and keep us posted on the passport arrival timeline.
