Traveling to the US on a K1 Visa

I hope this is the correct place to post.

My Fiance received her visa and we already booked a flight. Now I am learning that it may not be that easy.

Her visa was from the US Embassy in Singapore. She traveled back home to the Philippines to visit her family

before coming to America. In 2 weeks she has a flight from Manila to the USA, stopping in Tokyo to change planes.

Can anyone advise on what to expect in Tokyo? Are there any pitfalls for US Visa holders traveling through the

airport on the way to the US?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

According to the thread above, she might need CFO sticker since she is flying out from Manila internationally to US.

Maybe could move the post to PI subforum for better answer, since the fiancee is flying out from Manila.

She's going to need the CFO sticker when they see the visa bound for the USA, unless she has the Singapore equivalent of a USA green card.

There is no issue with a Philippine citizen changing planes in Japan.

Found his older post.
The fiancee had work permit in Singapore only.

The checklist is all that is needed. A non-citizen doesnt always need the waiver.

My fiance is a filipina working in Singapore as a domestic helper. She went to the SPF with the checklist, her passports and working permit, filled out the paperwork, was fingerprinted and returned a week after to collect the Certificate. We also had concerns about the waiver but it was not needed because the US Embassy checklist.

Which sounds to me she does not have the equivalent to a USA green card, which means she will need to go the CFO seminar and get the CFO sticker.

Thank you on the information to all about Tokyo airport and also on the new CFO thing.

I hired an attorney at the beginning of this process. It was wasted money. None of this was ever talked about or mentioned... and the firm was well aware

of her intent to travel home before coming to the USA.

Her flight is non refundable and scheduled for the 25th of this month. It would be ideal to get this seminar and sticker taken care of ASAP. Can anyone advise on

where she can do this. Currently she is in Isabella Province. Not sure if that matters...

Thank you very much

They have limited slots per day, so get there early. She should bring everything she brought for the visa interview. Also a CENOMAR, I doubt Singapore was looking for that. If she's under 25, she'll want parental advice or approval, signed and notarized by her parents. See the Philippines sub forum for the most recent requirements. The big gotcha is the "and anything else required to make a decision". For confident women, this is a cakewalk, for shy women they can be extremely intimidating.

I have read that twice. It sounds stressful. 5am in the line... hope you have everything in order or one on one counseling...

She can do it! I have faith!!

Thank you to everyone who replied. I sincerely appreciate all your efforts.

The biggest thing is listening to what they teach, then answering their questions with confidence. If she plays the meek little girl, they'll give her a hard time.
