Not used to posting on the forum. My signature states my journey with the whole GC. In nutshell, I have pending AOS from 2007, employment based, that is retrogressed for my country. Got married to my USC husband and filed I130 last year, got approved Feb 2014. Lawyers (and some other cases I've seen online) shows USCIS will convert pending AOS from employment to marriage if requested, which was done in my case.

My pending AOS is now changed to sent to local office (for interview). It changed today.

I will most likely be interviewing at Long Island City/Queens location since that's where I living.

My question....how long does it take to get interview scheduled? I already have had my fingerprinting done way back.

I am excited but also know NYC is VERY slow. Was hoping to get GC before my EAD expires end July....Guess I will still submit EAD renewal, just in case....

In your opinion, how long is the wait from here on.....anyone with experience...what should I expect.

2/5/2014- Email/Txt I130 approved and notice mailed.
2/10/2014-Hard Copy NOA2. Approval

2/21/2014-Letter sent to request conversion for old I485 from employment to marriage with copy of I485 receipt and I130 approval
03/19/2014 - Service request to check on conversion request status.
04/04/2014 - Service request status through mail stating request received for conversion and file being prepared for transfer to local office.
04/08/2014 - I485 updated to "transferred to local office"
04/12/2014 - Received transfer notice in mail stating file transferred from Nebraska to NBC Lee Summit, Montana (so disappointed as I thought it was at local office now).
04/14/2014- emailed Nebraska and scopscata to see what's going on with file due to conflicting info I've gotten and NBC doesn't even show processing I485.
04/14/2014- Got response from scopscata saying will look into email, forward to resolution team.
04/14/2014- I485 updated to "485 was transferred and is now being processed at USCIS office"
04/25/2014- Text message and case update online "testing and interview" stage.
05/06/2014- Text message and case update online with interview date of June 11, 2014.
06/05/2014-Notice sent by NYC acting district director/office that interview date is Aug 21, 2014.....??????????? No change online
06/11/2014 - Interview for AOS. I130 was already attached. Approved and got passport stamped. YAY. Thank God.
06/19/2014 - Case updated online with text and email saying new card mailed.....

06/21/2014-Condtional GC received along with welcome letter.

Hi psv,

I have heard of this but only seen one other on this board.

If the file is at your local office now, then I would guess just a couple months until interview. You will need biometrics every year or so, so if it has been over a year since your last you will need them again.

You could look for I-485 at LIC in processing times at uscis.gov to see how long it is taking; if is says something like 4-5 months then it is not backlogged.

Not sure where to find processing times for LIC/NY. I see processing times listed for I485 for NYC as a whole to be july 2013.... lol...that's backlogged alright.... maybe i'm looking at outdated stuff?

It's outdated. I sent my package in the end of February and received an interview date for mid-May. I've also seen people who applied for AOS back in September and just getting appointments made. It all depends.

Thanks...good to know it's outdated and that it's not as bad. I just hope my case is not complicated and gets stuck due to the whole employment to marriage. We are uber excited; we did not expect to have the interview set up this early. Hopefully, all goes well. Not sure where, since we are yet to receive an actual mail. Since we reside in Brooklyn, I suspect Federal Plaza in Manhattan. Good luck to you!

So disappointed as I got transfer notice in mail for the I485 and it says transferred from Nebraska to NBC, Lee Summit. Here I was happy it went to local office and interview should be next step....then why did service request response say adjudicator preparing to transfer to local office for interview and then online says transfer to local office.... going to call on Monday to get confirmation where file really is :( Very disappointed.
