You'll pay the cost of I-130 filing fee $420 (http://www.uscis.gov/i-130) at DCF appointment to submit I-130.

Everything else paid later - Immigrant visa fee for DS-230260, med exam and any other costs for obtaining documents for visa interview (CEMAR, BC...)

Once you get the visa you will have to pay the $165 ELIS fee which will produce your green card and send it to your address in the US.

Since you're in PI - think about CFO fees and evidences - check out PI forum.

Were planning on filing in the coming weeks, preparing everything. From past posts and general discussion, as well as the email sent out by the embassy, it's not required to be on a residency visa in the Philippines. A tourist visa with extensions will work.

Can you confirm that mark? Any pointers, or are the experiences posted in the last year still close to what we can expect?

Correct we brought the I-130 and associated docs to USEM on my 6 month plus 5 day anniversary in PI. In fact if you look back to a poster jace something everything he posted was correct as to what you need. I had just over 1 kilo worth of info and they just removed what they needed and 4 working days later approved the I-130. If you need any help let me know.

We brought all original docs with us. Agree NSO is slow. Better to have all originals with you when you go so there is no questions.

Always better to have the NSO copies. That seems to be the standard here. I understand you when you say "do we really have to wait"? However you have gone thru rejection before at Embassy why not make sure you have all your papers in order for when that time comes. You know you can call the Embassy and they will give you an idea of what is expected of you.
