Wife has Chinese passport and US travel visa (no green card yet), can she travel to Canada without obtaining a travel visa?

I did visit the Canada immigration website and used the application questionnaire to try to determine if she needed one but it is a little hazy on the documentation required. According to their website the results were:

Your Results

Based on the information you provided, the result(s) below indicates whether you may be eligible to come to Canada.

Visitors/Tourists (No temporary resident visa) - under 6 months

You maybe eligible to travel to Canada as a visitor without a visa.

Just wondering if anyone has successfully traveled to Canada while using a passport from a country that typically requires a visa and using a US travel visa instead of a green card to obtain admission. A Chinese passport with a US green card is definitely not a problem according to the Canadian immigration site.

Thanks

if she doesn't have a green card and she's using a Chinese passport then she cannot travel to Canada. She needs to obtain a Canadian tourist visa inorder to travel.

A K-1 visa (which your wife has) is not a USA Travel Visa.

Sure, it seems that's what it is, but it's not.

A K-1 visa has specific use, and is invalidated at the first USA Port of Entry.

Remember, a K-1 visa is single use, single entry, so if she is IN the USA already, the Canadien Border Patrol might let her through, but the USA Border Patrol will not let her back into the USA.

HOWEVER - your wife has the EAD/AP combo card - so it might be possible (though unlikely) that the Canadien Border Patrol let her through. IF they do let her north, Getting back is easy, as the AP portion of that combo card allows her to return to the USA.
