I AM A PERMANENT RESIDENT AND GOING TO FILE I-751 ON MAY 20 BUT MY PASSPORT WILL EXPIRE ON SEPTEMBER 7..I AM JUST CONFUSED IF I NEED TO RENEW IT BEFORE I FILE FOR I-751..AND ALSO I MADE A STUPID MISTAKES BECAUSE I DIDN'T CHANGE MY ADDRESS. WE MOVED TO OUR NEW HOUSE LAST AUGUST OF 2013 AND I HAVE NO IDEA THAT I NEED TO INFORM USCIS ABOUT IT I THOUGHT THAT I ONLY NEED TO CHANGE SPONSORS ADDRESS SINCE WE'RE MARRIED AND HAVE THE SAME ADDRESS. PLEASE BADLY NEED SOME ADVICE.

I fail to see the impact or connection of filing for ROC in May and your passport expiring in September. It's more important to submit the necessary documents that adequately support your I-751 Petition.

You can simply do a change of address online or via mail.

Thank you...I did it online last night. I am just worried because some people say that you can go to jail for not submitting your new address to USCIS so I called in this morning to update to make sure it went thru and this guy from USCIS answered all my questions.
