I was trying to find someone with a similar issue but wasn't able to through the search.

On Monday April 7th I received an email that the I-130 was accepted on the on the 4th. I was super excited. I checked USCIS website and it said the same thing.

On Tuesday April 8th at 9am I received an email that the case was reopened but the case was still in post decision.

On Tuesday April 8th at 11am I received an email that said they were sending an RFE. USCIS case status was changed to this.

On Tuesday April 8th at 6:30pm I received an email the case again was reopen. USCIS case status was changed back to post decision.

Anyone else have an issue like this with the case status changing so much so quickly? I'm really confused and going to call the USCIS in the morning for clarification. But just super confused at this point.

Post decision activity in my experience when our case was still at USCIS means approval because that's what I saw too when we got approved. I supposed you are checking online too with the USCIS website. But I can't give you a solid answer as to everybody's experience here, this is just my experience. Let's wait for others to chime in. I hope that's approval for you. Good luck!

how cloud you say the case was approved ? did you receive hard copy ?

If no then this is just on line mistake , wait for proper decision or hard copy of decision

thanks for the response/advise

So far it was all email. But all emails came in a 36 hour period. At this point I'm just confused. It's possible that they were a mistake but also there is a chance the emails are valid. The USCIS site says they can send an RFE at any stage of their review (plus it's the gov, they do what they want). It is also possible that I have 4 separate pieces of hard mail on the way, in which case I will need to find out which one is the correct one to follow.

Just an update... I called the USCIS to inquire about the emails. They said that the case was accepted on the 4th as the first email stated and the other 3 emails were just glitches with their online system.

SO YAY! Great news..

A new update on my issue. On April 9th when I call the USCIS I was told the case was accepted and the other emails were not showing up in the system. That emails were just a glitch in their online system. On April 11th I received the NOA2 in the mail. I thought everything was okay. On April 14th I received 2 pieces of hard mail that coincided with 2 of the 3 emails that were supposed to be a glitch. One said our case was reopened. The other was an RFE.

The RFE has my cases receipt number and my wife and my names in the header but in the area where it's asking for the additional evidence, it asks for several items, G325, passport photos and proof of bona fide marriage but asks for those item for people other than my wife or me. We don't know these people. Plus everything They are asking for are items that were included in our package. In our names of course.

I called USCIS today and they said that all the email and updates are showing up and that none of it makes sense. The officer said he has to send a service request to the TSC and they will send me a letter by the 30th that should clear everything up.

Back to the waiting game I guess. I just hope we or the other petitioners are not stuck in some sort of USCIS limbo.

Hi

My case may be a little different then yours. In my case the RFE was asking for information for people that were not me or my wife. So I called and they did a work request to find out what was going on with the case. It took 15 days but it was an error on their part. Everything was fine except it delayed my case the 15 days from being sent to the NVC.. My guess is it is probably a computer glitch, but you should call and find out to be certain. If it was an email it may take a few days to get to where the operator can see what is going on. I say this because I got an email saying the case was reopen, I called immediately and the operator said don't worry about it. Then a few days later I got it in the mail and had to call back, So it was a little longer than the 15 days total extra. Then the operator could see.

But as I said my situation could be different.. I recommend not waiting long to contact the USCIS though.

I hope that helps
