Yes, that's certainly apparent now. I'm happy for the folks who got their passport back in 3 to 5 days, sucks for me and others who fell into some kind of hole.

Would be nice if they can just tell you to expect a long wait upfront ("Expect your passport back within 2 months, or sooner if you are lucky") rather than saying 7 days then let you wait and panic everyday like crazy. A better management of expectations goes a long way, imho, also for them (so people would stop nagging them).

I'm really fine to wait it out, go thru all their processes, I just hate having this doubt in my mind that something is wrong with my files that's why it's taking so long :(

I started this thread partly so other folks in this same situation can have like a support group. It helps to know we are not alone in this waiting well.... We haven't been forgotten, we are in the queue.

It's sound like you have the best intentions, but.... This questions gets asked every other day and those that are here to help just scratch our heads and wonder if the questioner is not doing a little leg work and look at past post on this same topic. Two days ago, someone again asked this same question (look on page two of this forum) and I gave her 5 other threads that were asking the same question and the same answer was given.

This process is going to be tedious. We all are or have experienced it. But everyone's case is different so the timelines are going to be different. During your interview did you not look around and see 1,000's of applicants? That's just one day! It's amazing that USEM can get a file out in 2-3 days let alone a week.

Yes, it may seem unfair that you are not getting your passport/visa faster. We all wanted ours faster. But again, My case is different from your case so my time will be different than yours.

The one thing I have learned is you will not speed up government on your own. These are dedicated people who are trying to do the best they can. Have some patience. Yours will be in hand shortly with Gods speed.

@johnandmarlene, thanks for sharing

@greenbaum, thanks for the kind words of encouragement.

the thing is, there is no other avenue to vent this depression and frustration. this is just a small effort to find other people in the same boat to commiserate with and not feel so alone.

i understand veterans of this forum are annoyed by the same questions asked over and over, but hey, this is a public forum. if folks are not interested in the same old topic, they have other threads to choose from. nobody is forced to read this thread.

@people annoyed by this thread, feel free to skip and move to the next one please. the world wide web is mostly a democracy *wink* thanks and enjoy your day! :)

Not annoyed at the question, just know it has been asked a zillion times (and there is no real value in knowing when others received their visa) and that this topic will drift away like all the others until the next person pops up "needing to know" but doesn't want to do any searching. So in a few weeks this topic will join the list of all the other topics like this that will not searched.

In the mean time have fun... :)

hi, Hank

thank you, and in general, you have been so helpful to so many folks here, it's such a big deal what you are doing.

i understand what you are saying. not to be arguing your point, just that it is inevitable that questions will keep getting asked over and over. people come to this forum only when they are migrating thru the various visas, and (most) people will only do this once in their lives. and also, not everyone immigrates all at the same time. it just seems repetitive to the regulars here (you, Greenbaum, etc), but to the rest of us, this is the first time we are hearing of these things. it's all about perspective.

Yup, and that is why us that hang out here try to point people in the right direction for answers to their questions... even though some resist the nudge. ;)
