Hi all,

Just a question regarding CR-1 visa delivery.

Assuming a visa is approved, how is the visa delivered to the successful applicant?

Would someone need to be available to sign for the package? Or can it be sent to a local immigration office for pickup?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

It used to be Australia Post express post (or whatever kind of envelope you chose to give them to send your passport and paperwork in).

Now I think they use Toll.

My fiance is a bit confused about this option for visa delivery. Is this something he needs to set up when he pays through the Australian Post prior to his interview or is it taken care of at the consulate and he will pay for it there? He's just trying to sort out his side of things and I'm the one that's been handling the paperwork thus far so it's got him nervous.

Instead of going to Australia Post, your fiance can pay for the visa application (MRV fee) through ustraveldocs.com, which will include the Toll courier cost.

Darin, has this website been updated to reflect the current situation where the appointment is already made? I tried to look but was limited as it's really set up for him rather than me as it wanted passport info.

I went through the new process where my consulate interview was scheduled upfront, and I was still able to use the site to pay the MRV and complete the DS-160. The website still has instructions on scheduling the interview as one of the last steps, however, when I got to that point it was skipped. I assume the website system has been adjusted to skip that step for K-1 visa applicants.
