Any child in China can tell you that America is about to be overtaken as a superpower. Your President has sent your nation into a disastrous war. America has totally lost any credibility in the world. Even the former Malaysian Prime Minister, Mahathir Mohammed, has said that the rest of the world is laughing at the United States. Shop at Wal-mart, you send jobs and your money overseas, and in fact, you borrowed that money from China anyway.

Well well well. TPFKAWB, I don't always agree with you, but all of this is pretty much on the mark, especially your 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th points. #1 is not totally a foregone conclusion, but it's teetering precariously on the brink.

Worst President Ever.

Oh please.

You know, I am no fan of the Democrats, either. I pretty much despise most politicians on an equal opportunity basis.

But I have to say -- when Clinton was in the White House and attracting plenty of well-deserved negative attention for certain of his antics and policies, I can't remember any of his supporters telling those who would dare to criticize that they ought to move out of the U.S.

Is this some lame mantra that all BushBots have to mindlessly repeat ?

LMAO

I will never understand how a nation founded on dissent can produce so many who embracce the "love it or leave it" attitude.

President George W. Bush was not an Arab leader. George Bush came to power by stealth, in the dark of night.

Why the sarky response here?

It's already known that Bush is of European (not Arab) origin; and he won elections legitimately (as no Arab leader after Nagib has done).

I do believe we are finally seeing the end of American power.

There is a tale about William Gladstone and Queen Victoria.

When Bill had told Vicky about how powerful the British Empire was, such that "the sun does not set on it and never will", she rebuked him saying "only as long as God permits us will this be so--just as with Egypt, Assyria, Babylon,...,Rome)".

Applies nicely to America as well.

Technically, it's quite logical since the founders of the US didn't like where they were, so they left ;)

Most of the founders of the US were born in North America. It was an earlier generation who left, not the founders of the US.

Some discussion of semantics here.

Admittedly, there was not even an idea to separate out as "United States" until after 7-years-war (when UK won North American territories from France, and decided to appease their newest colonials at the expense of "established" ones--"red-herring" factoid).

However, most of the founding-fathers (of US independence) were descended from people who migrated over on ships, some partly-by-choice (the famous Mayflower pilgrims of 1620--who fitted exactly LisaD's description) and others with no such choices (second lot on Mayflower, 1621 were convicts). Methinks LisaD is thinking of the original migrants as "founders" (which could be argued).

Another way that LisaD's "leaving" analogy could work is if you use the analogy of Partition, when 57 million Punjabi, Pushtun, Sindhi, Bengali and Baloch Muslims "left" India (the only ones who actually LEFT India were 3 million first-generation mohajirs, including Biharis, 4 million Punjabis and a small number of Bengalis; most Punjabi and Bengali Muslims, as well as ALL Sindhi, Pushtun and Baloch ALREADY lived in areas which went to Pakistan and simply stayed-put), but that would require the assumption that the 13-colonies were a province (part-and-parcel) of UK.

:o huh? First I am not an immigrant, second show me one post where I have "spread garbage."

There is a difference between critizing the nation and criticizing its policies. Some Americans seem to have a problem differentiating between the two.

Oh and those that have fought and died for this country? they fought and died to uphold the US Cosntitution and American values which include the right of dissent.

Yep, it's early in the am and it was just a quick thought pun to add levity...not to argue semantics of who actually came over, where they were born, yadda yadda yadda  The thought's there and I think most will understand how it was meant
