Have I been jealous about the fact that someones pregnant, or has a new baby...... Oh my God yes!!!! Not to the point where I was all distraught about it though. I have a 13 year old daughter and my husband has no children... So.......... it means I gotta give him 'bout 2 kids at least. My daughter is excited about the thought of it and so am I.

At one point in my life I had written of the fact that I was never getting married and that I wa snever having kids cuz I though I wanted to be "free" when my daughter goes to college. First of all. who said shes "going away" as long as she goes, ooookkk? It can be down the street for all I care, just get in and get a degree and get out!

I was at my sister in lawz house the other day helping her with something on the internet, and she was sitting in the chair next to me and she said she had a "secret"..... Mmmmm juicy..... Aunt Flo hadnt been around lately. I just said it out loud...."Oh, I'm jealous and I cant wait to have baby! Knowing I dont have a choice but wait cuz Abdel isn' here..... She found out that she wasn't, I was sad..... she was extatic!!!!!!

I want to pregnant. I want to have a baby, and our plans, had Abdel's interview gone the other way, the 1st year was ours! I mean we had it all planned out, get established work long enuff to let them benefits kick in, and baby here you come. Im working from home. I do medical transcription fmro home part time now and its alrite. I've been working since I was 16 years old and I would love to be a house wife. Plus I know thats what Abdel wants and why not let him have the joy of taking care of his family. WOAH, 16 YEARS OLD....Thats more than 1/2 my life!!!

He's got job if he can ever get here, Im with you TracyLuis. I want to enjoy my husband and then we can start re-arranging our lives, the furniture and thinking bout baby names, well, we already have the name if I have a girl.

Can't wait............

I don't think I'd call it jealousy with me. I have infertility issues...I am lucky to have my daughter. I want more than anything to have a baby with my husband but to be honest, I don't see it happening. When I see pregnant women, especially a friend, it creates an intense longing inside me. *sigh*

Never happened to me. Then again, I've never really had a desire to have a kid.

LOL Tracy, it's the same with me. I am going to be 37 years old in 3 months' time and the desire is still not there. Hubby and I talked about babies last night before hitting the sack and I was actually quite relieved when he told me he wasn't ready himself. He said we'll talk about it in a year's time to see if we want to plan for a family then. For now, the thought of being pregnant and having a little someone depend on me 24x7 scares the hell outta me.

After reading rebeccajo's post it makes me nervous bout my daughter growing up. she just turned 11 and shes starting to get into girl things already, wanting to wear makeup, actually wanting to smell decent and not rough housing with the boys as much anymore. and we fight constantly. I guess one day i will have to let go as well :(

but my son, hes 19 months, i still have a long time with that lil booger :)

Hell, no.

I practically raised my two youngest siblings. And pregnancy itself just does not look appealing.

I think I had my fill of babies. Whenever I do get the baby blues, I ask to babysit my sister in law's toddlers. That usually does the trick. :innocent:

I'm enjoying my time with David... and our cat. LOL

Added note and related question:

Why do people want to have babies?

Besides the biological "need to survive" instinct of procreating.

Just an honest question, D. and I have talked about this before and we never really rounded up the conversation.

i have wondered the same thing, as well as DH and I have had conversations. we just wound up attributing it to *selfish genes* though :D

My mother has always said childless people are the most selfish on the planet because they've had too much time for themselves.

I always thought, hm, time to myself, that sounds nice! :)

one could argue that i still pay association fees that go directly to our subdivision's school and parks. I don't use them, and won't, but I pay like everyone else :star:

and by selfish gene i meant a nod to Richard Dawkins

Corey's 13. Or, by his description, 13 1/2. ;) Loveeee to try to rush growing up at that age! Anyway, like Rebecca said, he's the light of my life. (aside from hubby of course!) He's always been with me,and we've done so much together. Aside from the times my mom/dad would watch him while I worked, we've done nearly everything together, and have great memories of that. I'm lucky in that, even at his age, he still likes to cuddle on the couch, hold my hand, and say I love you tons of times a day.... (all of that when NO FRIENDS are around, of course...if they are, I get this tiny little upward nod from across the room, and then eyes quickly averted again until he condescends to come over and see us. ...like at a ball game or something... ) Anyway, yeah. Each to their own, for sure, but I'm so glad I've/We've got my "little" Corey. Just happened to come across a book of his baby pics night before last and was reminicing...it's so true what they say about how time flies....I can remember those days like they were yesterday, and somehow it just doesn't seem possible that he's 13 (1/2!) already. :(
