We hope that you have not been adversely affected, but if you have, know that you can reach the Government of Canada's Emergency Operations Centre in Ottawa through a toll-free number that operates 24/7 at - 1-888-949-9993. That number can also be dialed collect at 613-996-8885. While these individuals are not intended to replace the assistance provided by your own local authorities, they can work closely with them on certain specific matters. Canadians residing in or travelling to the affected areas should monitor local news and weather reports, follow the advice of local authorities, and contact their travel agent or tour operator to determine if travel plans should be modified.

To all of our American friends affected in any way by the tornadoes, know that your are in the thoughts of your Canadian neighbors.

Please forward this message to other Canadians you may know in the area or to anyone else you think may be interested in receiving it."
