So I applied for my EAD and Green Card in March, I've had my biometrics and now im just waiting to receive my EAD and green card. I'm just curious what the next step is after i get my green card as i understand that the first green card i get is only a temporary one. Can anybody shed some light on what the next step is? thanks.

EDIT: I have read on USCIS.gov about removing the conditions on my green card, but would like to hear other people experiences

Haven't experienced it yet, but have been reading the guides. and we are also about in the same AOS timeline.

The first green card is called conditional green card and will expire in 2 years. What you have read is right, you will do the ROC (removal of conditions) within 90 days of expiration of the 1st green card. More details here: http://www.visajourney.com/content/751guide

After which, you will receive a 2nd GC which is valid for 10 years.

Hi to you, i haven't got my G/C yet but as you will have been married for less than 2 years when you do get your G/C it will be a conditional Green Card only valid for 2 years, then 90 days before the 2 year anniversary of the issue date of the G/C you have to do a removal of conditions with form I-751 then when that is done you get a 10 year G/C.

My suggestion is to save evidence of joint finances and co-habitation from the very start of your marriage so that you will have everything you need when it comes time to file for ROC.
