I-485 and EAD questions

Hi everyone :wave:

I came to the US as a student (F-1) and had the option of getting an EAD for an year (Optional Practical Training). This EAD is currently set to expire in March, and I'm applying for AOS as the spouse of a USC. Can I just apply to renew my current EAD, or do I need a new one?

Any suggestions appreciated!

you can apply for AOS by filing I-130 and I-485 concurrently. I am on F-1 and I filed the same. You cannot renew your EAD which was based on OPT. You will have to apply for a new EAD by filing I-765 with your I-485 application using the c(9) category. I am on F-1 at Ohio State University and we applied for AOS in dec 06 and waiting for approval, interview and EAD through the same.

NO.

The supplement is for someone who entered the United States in transit, without a visa, or without inspection (such as a nonimmigrant crewman or a stowaway) who have an approved petition that was submitted prior to April 30, 2001.
