Hello Fellow VJ's

It's obvious that I am sponsoring my now husband on this form...

Where I put his information in part 3. "Relationship to Sponsored Immigrant" would be WIFE.

I'm the U.S. Citizen sponsoring him...

Now what through me off was part 5. Sponsor's Household size

1. Enter the number you entered on line 7 of Part 3. Which is 1 since he is the only one I am sponsoring.

Persons NOT sponsored in this affidavit: confused!

2. Yourself has a 1 already on it

3. If you are currently married, enter 1 for your spouse.

I figured I put 1 since he is my spouse and I am now married through the k-1... but he is the one being sponsored so not sure why they put persons NOT sponsored in this affidavit...???

8. If I put 1 in all of these lines my household size would equal out to 3. Which is not correct it should be 2 for myself the US Citizen and my Immigrant Husband...???

Does this mean that I have to make the poverty guideline amount for size 3 or 2???

You do not count your spouse the second time where it asks if you are married as it is clearly asking about people NOT sponsored on the affidavit. When you add the numbers this will give you the correct answer of 2. You do not need to reach the poverty guideline for a household of 3 if there are only 2 of you in the household.

Thank you for your answer. I was confused would my Husband be the Principal Immigrant in Part 2.

and Yes on Part 3 I am sponsoring the principal Immigrant in Part 2.

Without having to put his name and information on 2.a of Part 3 again.

Or I skip Part 2.

and put his information only in Part 3. Family Member 1 with No (Applicable only in cases with two joint sponsors) ?

Not really sure after reading the instructions...

See the example form > http://www.visajourney.com/examples/INS-Form-I-864.pdf

You list your husband where it asks in Part 2, as he is the principal immigrant, and check box Yes in Part 3 #1. You would not check the box for #2 or list any other family members since he is the only one you are sponsoring, unless you are in fact sponsoring other family members that are immigrating with your husband at the same time or within 6 months as the question states.

Thank you is there an example to all the AOS forms so I can see the examples like this one while filling them out... is there a link to these examples or thread that would have them. Because when I go to the AOS guide it only shows me the blank form.
