Hello Everyone,

My fiancee arrived in the US a month ago through K1 and we are wondering if we should apply for the Social Security card or get married. She doesn't have I-94 in her passport. We want her to start something asap, So we need some advices in this matter. Another option is to apply for I-765. Any reply will be appreciate.

Thanks

Apply for the social security card first.

Get married ASAP before her 90 days is up

Then submit the I-485 and include the I-765 and I-131

Submitting the I-765 before marriage is not a viable option.

I-94 is online now: https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/request.html

It's a good idea to get a SSN soon-ish. Bring a print-out of the I-94 when you go to the SSA office in your area, along with your fiancee's passport. Follow the guides for more info: http://www.visajourney.com/content/ssn

Applying for an EAD now is not practical as this will expire once the I-94 expires. Best to just collate all the AOS required documents asap (and apply the EAD and AP with AOS) so you'll have a faster time assembling your fiancee's AOS packet when everything is ready.

All the best!
