Do you type or hand write on the forms?

I am getting ready to fill out the forms....wondering should I fill out the forms by hand writing or typing and then print out?

Virtually all the PDF forms from USCIS and DOS can be filled out on your computer then printed, it is preferable to reduce errors when some one transfers data from the form to a computer.

Is your handwriting legible? Even if it is, if you want to do the forms by hand it would be best to use print (non-cursive) characters rather than written (cursive) characters.

Few people type these days - typewriters are hard to find. Most people use a computer.

sorry what i meant by typing is "using computer"......I think I will use computer to fill out the forms but is it ok if I want to make some changes by using handwriting on the forms after I print them out?

ps. my printer is down and I am going to print out the forms from staples.

I'd type it since the boxes are so small it's hard, even with the best handwriting, to do it right and if you mess up well then the whole forms shot wheras you can just backspace on the computer. I did handwrite some things in after I'd typed in answers with stuff that wouldn't fit, so I assume it's ok.

I wrote mine, but only because I was having problems with the online forms on that particular day and wanted to get it sent out as quickly as possible. I would recommend using a computer however, much quicker and far less annoying!

I could not get the fillable forms to work despite a brand new computer and the supposedly correct version of adobe downloaded on it. I hand printed all my answers to the forms and as far as I know that was fine.

You can print it fill it out and when you have everything correct, do the online form and print. That is what I did. Handwrote my rough draft but turned it in, hot off the press!

We hand printed ours as well. So far no problems. LOL, they'd better be able to read my handwriting after all the months I spent getting it just right for my students to read it off the board....

PDF'd the AOS forms. 14 months later still not approved.

Short answer - it doesn't matter as long as it's readable.

I typed some things in, and then hand-wrote some due to limited space for typing. They accepted my application, so it should be ok as long as you print when hand-writing to make it legible.

That's because there are two versions of adobe: the free reader, and the paid regular.. What you are likely using is the reader, which cannot save files.. not much you can do besides purchasing the full version...
