nathmc31,

There are 2, possibly 3, points at which you could receive an RFE, and an additional point at which you could be asked for additional documentation without an RFE:

- When the submission is first opened at the Chicago lockbox, the clerk will check to see that all required documentation is present. If something is missing they will send an RFE for the missing documentation.

- When the submission is reviewed by a case officer at the the NBC they may determine that some additional documentation is required to clarify an issue, or perhaps some required documentation is found to be missing from the file, and an RFE may be sent to request the additional or missing documentation.

- If the submission is forwarded to the CSC for decision without interview the case officer there may determine that some additional documentation is required to clarify an issue, or perhaps some required documentation is found to be missing from the file, and an RFE may be sent to request the additional or missing documentation.

- If the submission goes to a local District or Sub office for interview the case officer there may determine that some additional documentation is required to clarify an issue, or perhaps some required documentation is found to be missing from the file, and the case officer may ask you to provide the additional or missing documentation.

Where did your RFE come from? That may help you to figure out how many more opportunities you have to get additional RFEs.

Hey everyone.

I sent my AOS package in december 06, my question is, do they go through the entire AOS package and then determine what is missing and send out the RFE, because I recived an RFE last week asking for some other stuff in relation to the Affidavit of Support. I got that done and sent it off today. If I was missing anything else, would they have asked for it all at the same time? or will they send out an RFE for each thing missing?

I hope that they go through the AOS package and send out 1 RFE for all missing info.

Thanks everyone
