Hi fellow VJ's,

This is my first post in Forum (got nervous here ) LOL. Wish someone could help me with. Here it goes!

My fiancé sent I-129F last February 14, 2014 . Then, On February 27, 2014, our Alien Registration Number was changed relating to our I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). What do I do now? What does it mean? Should we received first the NOA1 before or after receiving Alien Registration Number?

Thanks for reading. Please help!

That means they started working on your case, but is meaningless by itself. You should receive a notice of acceptance and receipt (NOA1), and then you will wait for approval (Noa2). While you are waiting for petition approval, it is a good idea to research the steps after approval so you can be prepared. In the guides section there is a "K-1 flowchart" that might be of interest to you. Good luck.

Ok. So if I have my NOA1 and an Alien Registration Number has been assigned, that means that the service center started working on the case?

It means that someone actually touched your file to enter it into the computer, issued you your NOA1 and the A# associated with your file. They then placed in into a big box and placed that box in the long line of other I-129Fs being adjudicated. Think of it as you have walked into the door and decided to go into the third line from the right that has approximately 10,000 people in front of you. You now wait for you petition to get to the front of the line and to be looked at. The wait is currently about 180 days from NOA1 to interview date.

Good luck,

DAve
