Military Expedite before even filing K1

My fiancé and I are in the process of filing for a K1 visa. We have not sent out the packet yet, however it is sitting on his desk, ready to go. Yesterday he received orders to deploy. Can we ask for the expedite right away or does that only apply once it has reached NVC? I'm wondering if the process would be completed before he leaves.

We knew my husband was getting deployed when we sent our package, but we decided to wait until the package reached USCIS (I'm not sure why you said NVC) then we called and ask for our case to be expedited.

You can send deployment orders and a request to expedite your case with your package, it's up to you.

We did same as above. When the case reached USCIS then we called and requested to be expedited. Originally we sent his orders with the whole petition and requested in cover letter for it to be expedited - they didn't even look at it. That's why it's best you call and personally ask them once they've received it

My boyfriend (fiance) is getting deployed by the end of this month, im currently visiting but im going back to Colombia after he leaves...We're just about to start process for k1 we're sending the package this week. Should i send his orders with the petition package? i dont want them to stop my process because he wont be in the usa. what can i do? anybody knows how this work?

No. They're not even going to look at it. I sent the orders with our petition and nothing happened. I had to resend them again anyway once we requested the expedite

For my AOS, I sent in the cover letter and deployment letter from the CO with the AOS petition and a "Attention; deployment expedite" note on the outside of the package.. But I also called back and re-requested it once I had my noa1, but never had to send anything to them because I told them it was already in my packet. They did honor it and I got my greencard in 2.5 months. I guess it all depends..

Thanks everyone! You've all confirmed what I suspected. We only have 3 months before he deploys so I think that's a little too rushed for me!
