We got our NOA2 and claim number in the mail. Yay!

But I’m confused on the next few steps because I see a lot of people talking on here about filling out this or that. I’ve read the flowchart here on VJ but I want to know more detail.

I know he has to do the DS-160 but what can I do in the mean time? What else can we be working on to prepare? What things are time sensitive so we make sure we don’t have to do them again?

I should state he cant schedule his interview till June because he will be visiting in May and we don’t want the Fiancee Visa to activate. Can an interview be rescheduled if it is too soon?

Thank you.

you could study the I-134, as it's the affadavit of support form that is presented on interview day.

The I-864 is submitted with the Adjustment of Status case, filed in USA after marriage in the USA. Probably a lot of the same data, you can crib I-134 data onto the I-864 later.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

ok thank you, makes sense. I just read a PDF copy of the packet 3 we will be waiting for and it states I-134 so I'm not so confused now.

Also I read under the "If your Visa is Approved" page on the Montreal goverment page this little paragraph.

"At your first Port-of-Entry in the U.S., the USCIS Officer will retain your visa package and will place an ADIT (admission) stamp into your passport. The USCIS officer can answer questions about when and how you will receive your green card. Until you receive your green card, your ADIT stamp is your proof of legal residency in the United States and you can immediately live, work and study in the U.S. USCIS office will mail your physical green card to the address that you provided in the Sworn Statement (form DS 230-I, box 11).

I know we arnt at this part yet but is this for real? Becuase that is exciting news. My Fiance's work has a branch here in the US and they have been communicating for possible relocation but we warned them we had to do AOS and all that stuff first. Can I confirm he can work right away so he can inform his HR?

ya ... sorry. K-1 visa holders must adjust status, after marriage to a USCitizen, filing the big AOS set,

but

if the paperwork is stellar, expect a EAD card within 90+ days of filing the big set.

I know you said you reviewed the K-1 flowchart in the Guides Section,

but

I suggest you do it again, when using a PC [handphones suck for important stuff, here]

No problem we expected to wait about 3 months.

In the mean time I will start collecting things for the I-134

Thank you. I did read we can reschedule. If he has to get here earlier we will deal with it. I rather have things happen too fast than drag behind. :)
