Do filipinas have an easier time getting a tourist visa?

If I were desperate to get her in the U.S. I would have married her a year ago. Getting a CR-1 visa is easy and takes only 3 months if you know how to work the system(from 9-12 months as the normal time). Nothing anyone has said is something I didn't already know, since I tried getting my previous Thai GF into the U.S. three years ago(twice) on a tourist visa and failed. My friend insisted it's easier with a filipina. It isn't.

Three months? I've already been waiting almost 6 months and haven't even had my I-130 approval yet. Please share how the CR-1 can take 3 months so as to help everyone here, if there even is such a legal method.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

My filipina girl friend speaks English very well. Does that give her an advantage in getting to the U.S.?

Dude...wake up. Most Filipino/Filipinas speak very good English...next to Tagalog, it's their 2nd language and widely spoken in the PI. You're looking for a shortcut...and a way to buck the system...Thank Obama for the delays! You're in the same boat as the rest of us. Unless your wife lives in Leyte or Samar...then you might have a chance of getting preferential treatment for hardship due to the Typhoon. Hopefully you're for real. Some of what you posted makes me wonder. Apologies in advance if I misread underlying aspects...

you cannot work on a tourist visa, ever. It's for TOURISM. Working on a tourist visa will get her a lifetime ban

There is the usual shortcut of course, marry and adjust status. Lol

I blame Obama for his big push to legalize illegals. He is showing the world that taking shortcuts pays, expexially the biggest shortcut of all, right across the border into Arizona or New Meico in the middle of the night. Without using so many words, he is saying that all of us here are idiots for doing it the legal way.

Letters from some business also means zilch regarding the true intentions of the applicant. Imagine how many Filipinos have successfully used bogus letters from some bogus business (inviting them for even more bogus training!) to find their way to the US....and never return...beaucoup (lots)....letters are pieces of paper with writing on them....they prove nothing, they are not legally enforceable upon anyone, and whatever is written in such a letter is mostly noise.

Her chance of getting a tourist visa is slim to none. The English language is considered as our second language so most if not all have a good command of the language.

The knowledge of speaking English is doesn't do anything towards getting a Tourist Visa "A wealth and a Bank Account with full of money thats all the CO wants to see and to know from her or him make sure she or he is coming back where you coming from" go figure. The US Embassy always have an interpreter so everyone can go even if you have a lil English as long as you have strong evidence you're coming back to your country of origin.

Wealth and a bank account do not mean a C O will issue a tourist visa. Money and other investments are easily moved.

If you have a sizable bank account, your chances are better getting a tourist visa, than without. Wealth and position mean you are not as desperate to immigrate, as someone who lacks such things. Rarely does the CO look as anything other that the application, prior to the interview. Seldom will he even bother to look at any evidence you bring with you. Usually, the CO has come to a decision before the interview.

CR-1 marriage visa or K-1 fiance visa. Otherwise not likely based on the information you've provided.

They should do away with the loophole that allows people to come here on a tourist visa or VWP and adjust status.

I agree because if they did that it might make it easier to get a simple tourist visa.

I agree with both of you. They should do away that.

OP, your best is to apply for a K1 or a CR1 visa. Where you do that will depend on where the beneficiary has legal residence. If she is on a work visa in Thailand then apply there. If she is on a tourist visa in Thailand then she will have to interview in the Philippines. Also if she applys for a tourist visa in Thailand I can almost guarantee they will ask why are you interviewing in Thailand and not the Philippines. Read my review of Pui's interview for her K1. One of her now friends that she met when she interviewed was from the Philippines working in Thailand on work permit/visa. The CO asked about her residence and she showed her work permit/visa of proof she was legally in Thailand and was her residence.

I suppose you would have to explain what you consider wealth to consist of and we have to then hope the actual C O will have the same opinion.

Tourist visas are issued to those that can prove beyond doubt they must return to their country. Wealth and money can be moved easily but I do agree it may help in the decision.
