Had my interview today. My oath ceremony will be this Thursday 9/18! So happy it's almost over.

Can you write how the interview it is? I am in Charlotte too thanks

My interview was pretty quick. Few questions where I work and what my wife do. Had to write one sentence down. Not sure how many civic questions. Must be 7 or 8, I missed one because was too nervous. Questions were mostly simple one.

My wife and I are going to Charlotte tomorrow for her interview. i was going over the Document checklist one last time and noticed that it is asking for a marriage certificate and proof of marital union and proof of residence. We have the certificate of course but what did you take for proof of marital union and proof of residence?

Thanks! Our appointment is at 10am tomorrow. I am hoping that if all goes well we can maybe get in on the Oath Ceremony tomorrow. I have heard that sometimes you can do it same day. Anyway fingers crossed for the whole process and congrats to you!!!

My wife had her interview in Charlotte (Biometrics were done in Raleigh) today and passed! She is scheduled to do the Oath Ceremony next Thursday 09/25/2014. Can someone update the list for me? Thanks!!!

Here was her experience.

We arrived 30 minutes early. After going through security you go to a waiting room on the right and go to the registration window. They give us a number and we waited about 5 minutes and they called her up to a window and verified that we were supposed to be there and sent us back to the registration window to get her interview number. Once we had that number we went across the hall to the interview waiting area. The people were very nice and calming. After about 15 minutes they called my wife back. She was in there just under 15 minutes. When she came out she had passed and had also been asked if she could hang out til 12:30 for the oath ceremony. We were super excited but they came out about 10 minutes later and said they could not get her card made in time so we would have to come back next week. It would have been nice to be done but at least the hard part is over.

My wife said her interview went like this.

She was sworn in.

The interviewer asked to see her appointment letter, DL, passport and green card.

Then she was asked the test questions. She got the first 6 right so that is all that was asked. In the provided study guide they were questions 45,46,62,64,93,15 in that order.

Then she had to read a simple sentence out loud and write the sentence "We have fifty states."

Then he read the application and got her to confirm what was written. Very easy just agreeing with what he was reading off the application.

Then you sign your signature.

Then he entered information in a computer and gave her a paper that said she had passed. Then she was asked to wait out in the waiting room again. She was called back in about 10 minutes later and told she would have to come back next week for the oath ceremony.

It went very smooth and all of them seemed to be very calm in their demeanor. We never needed any of the supporting documents but were still glad that we had them with us.

My husband is always asking for dates.. When will this happen? When will that happen? lol

So far I haven't been able to give him any answers outside of the notices, so this should keep him happy.

Congrats to all who recently got their interviews scheduled or were approved!! :dance:

I am still awaiting my oath letter (my interview was back on 9/3). They finally updated my online status from "an interview has been scheduled" to "we placed you in oath scheduling que" (ironically, they misspelled the word "queue"!). :P In SD the ceremony is on the last Wednesday of each month, so I am not very hopeful they'll fit me in the September ceremony next week. More likely the one at the end of October... :clock:

Hi Guys,

So tomorrow is my oath ceremony and I made a mistake filling out the form (N-445, Notice of Naturalization) that I need bring with me filled out. Like an idiot, I did not read the instructions carefully didn't realize that the questions being asked at the back of the form only apply to the timeframe after the interview. So i answered the first two questions yes (have you ever been married, or traveled outside of the US), when they should really be a no. What do I do!? I was thinking of using whiteout, but I am not sure if this is allowed.

Please help!!!
